Just found these 2 variations of Realtoy's 2014 Ford Focus ST-R. Realtoy's first generation Focus was a really good casting, and I'm pleased to see these new ones are just as nice.![]() ![]()

It does remind me of the Maisto casting, albeit with different wheels. Anyways, looks to be a good find! |

I'm lucky enough to have the 1st Focus they issued several years back. Interior details look about up to par as on that one. |

It looks a little unrefined (perhaps it is just a thick coat of paint making some casting lines appear weak?) but I am still excited about a new model from Realtoy. I will happily add these to my collection, if given the right opportunity. |

I think it's a pretty nice casting. The wheels look very Mattelish. The casting lines really don't appear to be all that indistinct to me...though I understand what Dean means. Could they be a little sharper, more defined? Maybe. It has to be a tough call when carving out a 1/64 casting. Paint thickness and door gaps (two of the most common complaints/problems) are variables that I think even the most meticulous designer is going to encounter problems with. Once the casting is out of their hands and goes into factory production, many other elements intervene. Very little works out to be a true to scale in the end. AW may be raising the bar, but unless their business really booms, most other diecast manufacturers aren't going to follow those guidelines as strictly. Same thing goes for wheel choices, tampos (painted or left the basic car color), jeweled headlights--all the little sparkle that make diecast appear more realistic. Which brings us back to this casting. I think if the sparkle of rubber tires were added, little tampo touches, jeweled, or more realistic painted headlights...everyone would be drooling over this casting. Minus all that, however, the designer did a fine job. Edited by Dragnet_Supporter, Sep 9 2014, 08:12 AM.
