Wow, just when I thought things couldn't get better with my fav Thrift store diecast hunting, today I went by there to see how they were stocked. WELL, it turns out some are now cheaper. And not only that, they've tripled or more the number of diecast in the bags, for the same or LESS money, usually it was about 3.90 for 5-6 cars, some bags were 2.90 with 15 or so cars in there. Wow. The Keeper rate is also up, I judged this 5-bag haul to be well over 50% or more I intend to keep.
More Majorettes in this selection, I think I found at least 5 , 2 or 3 in one bag alone. Best 17 $'s I spent today! . Here's some pictures of my baggie lots, everything in the front 3 rows I'm keeping the ones in the rear rows are gonners.

THAT is the main reason I bought that bag. It's a Welly '65 GTO, with Exxon logo on the roof, and some other graphics. I rarely see any Welly diecast, so when I saw that diecast tattoo on the bottom, I was buyin' the bag no matter what! Turns out there are lots of keepers in that bag as well.

Very lucky! Thrift stores here no longer sell diecast, Barbies, or any little toys this size. It really sucks. I know I'd be one to buy every bag they got!

Is that "Majorette" limousine a pullback car? Someone here recently found one and there was a big discussion trying to figure out who made it.

Wow - great assortment of goodies to go through. I don't hit to many thrift stores but when I do I never see the little cars in baggies - usually loose in a dump bin. For me the LAPD van would be the nice fine.

Yes, that was my Majo post on the limo's, as they are exactly like the Majorette body, except the base is different. This blue one has a white plastic base, I didn't test it, but it could be a pull-back version.

I think the thrift stores around here that are bagging them are majority-Hispanic operated and run stores. I'm not sure if they are affiliated with each other in any way, but it seems those that seem to have mostly hispanic employees are bagging the diecasts, rather than try to find a dump bin to put them in. Makes sense, as if you pick up 5-10 cars to buy, how do you carry them around in the store? And they also get rid of the peg-warmers this way, too. Buy all or nothing in the bag. Seems to be a workable proposition. And since they are now increasing the number in the bags , for the same or less price as before, YAY!
