They sure did some decent emergency models back in the day, no monster engines sticking out, and the graphics weren't typically too bad either. |

The ambulance I have to track down. There were so many different issues, including some non-ambulance issues, like two delivery trucks made with the casting. I think the white and red version looks sharpest. I've had Fire Eater, Flame Stopper, and Emergency Squad since I was three. They had several runs back then. My favorites were the '99 Emergency Squad, the later Bomb Squad issue of the same casting, and an '01 version of Fire Eater (lime yellow and 5SPs). They were Hot Wheels, but strangely, only recently did my Matchbox emergency vehicles outnumber the Hot Wheels ones. All the Emergency Squads now have a hot rod huge engine sticking out of the hood, the new ambulance and ladder look decades ahead of their time, and Fire Eater has had mostly non emergency related decos. Here's one of the non ambulance issues from 1997. It and the police car were to a Target police station playset that year, I'm almost positive they were exclusive to it. I gave the playset away with two replacement cars..... kind of wish I kept it now though. ![]() Edited by Douglas, Sep 27 2014, 04:42 PM.

Yes, these two were exclusive to the set. I think I gave the building to my son when he was younger- and it could well be tucked away in his closet. |

So THAT'S how FedEx gets packages everywhere so fast.....they run "code 3"! Too bad the FedEx 'road trains' I saw (lots of them) this past weekend headed west on I-84 didn't have lights (and sirens) to clear slow drivers out of their way...... |

Usually it is the other way around for me. I need the lights and sirens to move fedex trucks out of the way for me. Jeff |
