Ok, Maybe some wouldn't think a dog catcher van is an emergency model, but it was a toss up for me. :D

I don't know what make of car this is, but always thought a race car was kind of an odd choice for a police car, none the less, I liked collecting them.

Great collection! I like the dog catcher falling in with these as animal control. They certainly perform rescues...though of the animal variety. But still can be dangerous. RC did a van that's some type of animal control as well.

Great collection, I have never seen the Fire Dept stock car, something else to track down!

As for animal control, here in Connecticut animal control is usually a divison of the local police department so it fits to me.

Well it sounds like the animal control van fits then, that's good.

Brian, I can't remember for sure where I got the fire dept car, although I did buy it new, and it may have come in a big set I bought back in the mid-late 90s, called Home Town or something like that, it had a large variety of models and accessories, the paramedic van came from the set I know.

Maisto used their Buick LeSabre stock car casting for those police and fire models. I had not seen the NYPD version before so another to add to the want list. :) And somehow the Mercedes Metro City Ambulance keeps eluding me...but one of these days. Racing Champions did a couple of animal control vehicles so I would put the dog catcher van in that category.

The humane society in my county is a division of the Sheriff's Office.

Ideal did a slot car that was a police stock car twice--once as a generic release under the Majorette brand, and the other was Roscoe's Sheriffs car from Dukes of Hazzard (I have this one). It's a little odd to me, too.

I think I have a LAPD version of the Search Truck somewhere. Last time I saw it was a couple months ago, when I amalgamated several of my cars fro when I was little into my current collection.

I always thought the Mombasha Fire Company version was a Code 2, but I later found out it was a regular release.

The red Buick was part of a larger set. I believe it was in 2 different ones. ONe had a lot of single cars while the other was more of an emergency set.

Here is the RC van

Somewhere I have a police car, and maybe a "fire chief", that are "stock cars", both with driver-side webbing nets in the open driver's windows. The cars you show don't seem to have those webbing nets (but, you don't show the driver's sides).....anybody know if the ones I'm describing (sorry, couldn't find the models themselves to post photos) are Maisto or some other 'generic' brand?

It is the same Buick LeSabre that is pictured - got to keep those firemen and police officers safely in their cars, you know.

It's a good thing the cops in ZNation's Philadelphia (last Friday's episode on the SyFy channel) didn't have such flimsy webbing restraints in their patrol cars, or one main character probably would've been killed off in that episode (episode 2 of the series, iirc). The zombie-ified cop couldn't roll down his window, hence couldn't get to the character as she checked out the car for a working radio. :P

I happened to be looking at the models again and realized I had little stickers on the bases of the models from the set I mentioned, the emergency models from the set are the Fire Dept and all black Sheriff Buicks, the Mercedes van I mentioned before, and a police motorcycle not shown here,

My little labels noted the set name "Hometown USA", and 95-96, although I would have bought it in 1996, since that's the year I started collecting, but the date on the box may have been 1995.

This was probably the set Jeff mentioned with less emergency models, probably just those 4, because I know it had a number of other non-emergency models in it.
