This sure was a surprise. After perusing instagram, which has been saturated with photos from the SEMA Auto Show (modified cars are not my cup of tea, but I can recognize a nice custom or two), I came across a 1976 Ford Bronco Skyjacker Suspension that has an exclusive Matchbox counterpart. Skyjacker suspensions is celebrating their 40th Anniversary, and Matchbox approached them to make the model in conjunction with their 1972 Ford Bronco. The result is worth a look: ![]() Read more and see the 1:1 by clicking here. Tasteful models like this would make me not mind the Unstoppable Theme, and it sounds like this model will make its way to the mainline, sort of like the 2008 Lotus Evora from the British Motor Show. What do you think? Edited by mbx64, Nov 5 2014, 04:24 PM.

Reading the write-up from Skyjacker, it sounds like this model could just be a 2015 basic range model that ties in with the SEMA model. I have a feeling that it may not be anything unusual except perhaps in a fancy box if it was made available at the show itself. I would expect to see it in the first batch of next year's range. Looking at the picture, it does not look like it will have any unusual additional printing over what a standard model would. I could be wrong, but I think we will not see a big reason to try and chase this down. Not that I won't be keeping an eye on it just in case. Well spotted there. It is cool though. It is nice to see Matchbox still being able to do stuff like this. |

I have the old light blue version of the Bronco around here somewhere. Hopefully, this model won't be a pain to find like 2012's F-350. Grille isn't painted which leads me to believe it will be a mainline. Article says this fall, a little late compared to the F-350. I hope they put it in a 9 pack, as that's the only way I was able to acquire the F-350. Edited by cody6268, Nov 6 2014, 08:11 AM.

Cool! I'm glad Mbx is able to still do stuff like this too, and I'm really hoping David is right about it being a mainline issue. It's neat to see the real one with the Matchbox logo. Thanks for sharing this Nicolas, it's a model to hopefully look forward to for next year. |

SEMA...an event that I must attend one day... The model looks to be well-executed. If I had just seen this one on the pegs, I would not know the level of realism (due to the yellow roll-cage), but after seeing this picture, it looks to be very accurate! If this model is included in the 2015 mainline, it could be a good sign for the brand. |

Thanks Cody, I overlooked that when I first read it. It does seem a long way off though, but that could have just been the schedule for its release from the get-go. Who knows why, maybe there is a bigger demand for off-roaders in the fall.

Surprised the original release of the F350 was hard to find anywhere.....it was all over stores around here, though in stages of restocks. What's also surprising to me, in the same light, is that I cannot find the 2014 version of that same F350 Superlift pumper. With the sheer "peg-warmer-ness" of the original orange one, I just expected the red version would not be popular. Wrong so far! Of course, I'm only certain about ONE thing so far this fall, and that is that ONLY ONE store (one of 7 Walmarts) of the dozen or more chains/branches locally who stock Mbx, has yet pegged batch L (and none have pegged beyond that, or M). Last week I saw what MIGHT have been evidence of batch L having reached another chain's stores (Shopko), but having to come looking for lists of which models are "markers" for a particular batch has been frustrating. Tilley's lists are great, just not really as portable as I wish. For sure, I've only seen Batch L's true "markers" (the first appearance of the Rapids Rescue, among others) at ONE single store, and I wisely bought both that were there. But, there wasn't an F350 to be found. The other thing I consider a "marker" for L is the "one-L Marshal". I think I saw another one of those at a Shopko store....but all other stores with "Marshall" cars, including recent restocks at Target and Shopko and Kmart, all are carrying the batch K version with two Ls. So, to date, no F350s have made it to my hands this year. I'm about to head out and hopefully I'll finally find one of them. |

Nice pics, Doug. I picked up a couple of these because they're just such a striking combo of colors and graphics. Lots of play value, though I'll not be running this around in my back yard like I did with most of my Matchboxes when I was a kid. This is a case where the black and orange complement themselves wonderfully. I've not felt the same way about the Sahara Survivor versions (one mostly orange with black roll cage, the other mostly black with orange roll cage). I even like the Sahara Survivor as a model....just not it's halloween colors. The mostly-orange one is hideous IMHO. ![]() ![]() Both images from Matchbox Cars Wiki on Wikia.... |

That's among the batches just restocked locally at WalMart......its first appearance in local WM stores. As I noted in another thread I just posted, I got this batch in January (at Fred Meyer). Gotta love this version! |
