I did. I had lunch with family. I went into Ollie's and hit the jackpot. I found three MBX Real Working Rigs, the Freightliner Satellite Truck, the Freightliner Vacuum Truck, and the Excavator. I also found TONS of HW Boulevard models. I picked out the Studebaker Champ, Ferrari F40, Honda Civic (liked the color, not so much the car), '56 Mercury, and '64 Falcon. I usually get cash or gift cards for my birthday, as I'm usually indecisive about what I want.

Also, I was quite surprised when my Dad gave me a mint in box Tonka Mighty Crane. This was the exact same one I thought "Geez, that's way out of my budget" every time I browsed Ebay. I will never remove it from that box, though I will buy a second one in poorer condition to keep from having to do that. It almost makes me forget that huge bunch I wasn't able to bring home from the dump. However, it looks like it was stored in that box, and played with as there is "some" playwear, but I'm afraid to take it out as 40 plus year old boxes are really flimsy, and this one appears yellowed and really worn.

Once I charge my "camera" (an old unused cellphone that was retired a couple years ago), I think I can take some pics.

Happy Birthday Cody! I was going to send you a gift but I heard you are the type who won't open the box LOL. Just a birthday joke from a DLM'er. B)

Here's the Tonka.

Posted Image

It's the one in the box, the Hook and Ladder, Trackhoe, and dozer are most of the rest of my Tonka collection.

Happy Birthday Cody! It's good to hear you got some great new diecast.

And that gift from your dad, I know the collector in you is saying don't mess it up, but I think you gotta (carefully) play with all them great working features a little bit, (you know you want to) :toy:
Just kidding of course, I can understand the concern for a fragile older box, it's part of the treasure of it :D

Of course I do. That's one thing I love about Tonkas. Luckily I've found one for $25 shipped, though with a bent wire for the hook.
