Swifty how much time in advance do I need to make reservations? It also would be cool if we could comply a list of whose thinking of coming or who is.
You could decide to make the trip the night before the show starts. There's no deadline to lock in the special hotel rate.

What are the gravity racing classes going to be, and what are the rules / restrictions? Thanks
We usually have a blister stock race (no mods), a rip 'n' race (where the cars literally need to be on the blistercard until the race starts), and a former champions/outlaw class. I'm not sure if there will be a trucks/van class or if they'll go in either the regular or outlaw classes.

For banger racing all cars (stock or modified) are allowed. No trucks or vans.

Thanks Swifty! That means there are only those two classes for the lane races, right?

Pretty sure you can race almost anything just for fun.

Last year they were rippin' open White Lightnings and racing for pink slips ... :D

Some pics from gravity racing & banger racing in years past:

Yes, these two really did go down the track against one another. The estimates at the time was that the pair was valued at $600 total...

Treasure Hunts, White Lightnings, the Travelin' T-Bird, and even Redlines have all earned their Darlington stripes on the infamous banger track.

So how do we reserve a table at this fine show? Are we allowed to split tables?

Unless something unavoidable comes up, Rose and I will be there. Rose says she might be available for name tag duty once again. As with the last couple of years, we won't be staying over. Since we only live about 50 miles away, it would be silly to spend the money on a hotel room that we could otherwise spend on TOYS!

Mark, PLEASE come! Since I don't do ebay anymore, you're my best source for decent Lesneys at a decent price. If you want, I'll send a sick note to your boss for you.

Sorry Jim. Since I am fully committed to the event I am working on, I'm certainly not going to be absent the day of the event, which is the 28th. I thought that date was safe since CARnival has always been in April.....

And that's where we dropped the ball this year. We really are going to miss you this year, Mark. :( Sorry for the scheduling conflict.

Thanks Sean. I'm only one person and I will miss the fun. But it appears you are garnering more interest from those who have never attended and that is fantastic! I'm bummed I won't get to meet Jeff Fleetwood; he is someone I would really like "talk shop" with. CARnival 2015 will be a great time for those who attend. For those of you out in Diecastland, you should give serious consideration to attending this fun-filled event. Make the effort - you won't regret it!

FYI - Put me down for the event car(s).

Mark, I'll make sure you're covered for the event exclusive(s). ;) And with luck, those attending their first CARnival this year will be back in 2016 as well.

Well Swifty, I actually had reservations made. Was gonna sneak in under the radar and not tell anybody. Just found out I have to have my knee re-replaced on March 19. I will look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing the stories.

Hot stuff
I've noticed that we always mark down the three day weekend as the event, due to the group of regulars that come in for the weekend.
However we seem to neglect to mention that the actual event is Saturday, free entry, and anyone within earshot can come look around, participate in any racing, raffles, or whatever we might have going on.

I need to place in the Lancaster/Reading/Lehigh Valley ads about the CARnival. We need a good turnout!

Can't promise but we'll see if I can get time off and work it into the budget for the four of us. even tho fuel is cheaper the Tahoe sucks it up.

Unfortunatly I just was informed I can't have the time off. Mandatory Active Shooter refresher training that weekend. :(
I so dislike when they drop these on me since I took the same course last November.

Just reserved my hotel room! About time, right? There is a deal on the website to get 20% off a stay of 3 nights or more, so that actually worked out to be a bit cheaper for me than calling and requesting the CARnival rate. Go figure!

Man sorry to hear that and it's ironic I just talked to another member here and he had weapon training. I'm qualifying tomorrow.

Sounds like I'm not the only LEO on here... I'd love to come, as I live in Berks County. But I'm on duty most of the weekend. When I'm off I have a family gathering in Chester County. Maybe I can swing by on Saturday for a short bit. Hmmmm
