I picked these up recently and was curious to what might be exclusive models in them, since I can't remember seeing any as singles so far this year, and the year is almost over.

What I can guess is that the camper wont be a single, since they don't issue trailers as singles anymore, and then the tow truck I suspect is exclusive, could be wrong, but since it appears to be a 5 part model, it just might be a casting they only offer in multi-packs. Anybody know of any others here that will be exclusive?

Thanks,

Support your local demo derby.

Yet to see any of these released as singles thus far but my area has been behind on MB for quite a while.

I think I've seen the ugly looking Hero City era Taxi on a single card, haven't seen any of the rest on singles. Like Crafty, the WMs around here could be behind. One WM in the area quit carrying MBX altogether.

The CTS Sportwagon is nice and its nice to see the mail truck getting use again.

I have not kept up on Matchbox things like I once did so not sure what is and what is not exclusive to these sets. I know I will want to try and track down the Forest Service Camper and Fire Watch SUv from the Outdoor Sights set.

According to my research, all models in these two sets are exclusives. None are showing in any 1-120 listing.

Thanks for the research, I didn't realize they did all exclusive sets anymore, that's good news, hopefully they will do more like it next year too.

Well, the tow truck, in (I sincerely believe) the exact same color/livery, is also in the 9-pack (10-pack outside the USA) with the "exclusive" blue Porsche. So again I am not sure I understand how it could be called "exclusive" other than it won't be issued as a single. But if something appears in two different packages/sets, my personal definition of "exclusive" (where diecast toys are concerned) doesn't apply.

LOL, I guess Matchbox has various shades of exclusive

I think for the Honda Ridgeline I read somewhere "exclusive to various multi-packs".

Yes, I do believe that is their definition of exclusive.... not available as a single....maybe we should call them "excluded" instead of "exclusive". :D

Exactly my definition. None of these models have 1-120 series numbers assigned. The multipacks are more of a melting pot of castings from all over.

It IS a clever way to get "collectors" to buy models they already have (some of us don't "collect" "variations" so much....), just because there may be something unique in a package.

As far as I am aware all 10 of these are not part of the basic range. However, there is nothing to say that they will not be a part of the 2015 range? You never know. All 5-packs until these 2 had at least one model pulled from the basic range. They could have pulled out a 2015 model and thrown it in early, but I am hoping that all of these will end up exclusive to the packs. I am just waiting on the variation on the City Works pack with updated Postal Truck and brightened Express Delivery.

I brought up this old thread again because I have another question regarding a model in the "Outdoor Sights" 5-pk.

The color of the Forest Service, Road Tripper camper seemed kind of light to me in my 5 pk shown above, and I just figured it was due to being plastic, but it almost appears to me that with the 5pks I see hanging on the pegs this past couple days, this model appears darker, more like the color of previous Forest Service models........

.........Could be just lighting in the stores compared to home, (or my eyes), but thought I'd ask if anyone noticed this, or if it changed in recent batches, and can maybe confirm a distinct color difference ?

Thanks,

The ones I see hanging on pegs around here right now all seem to be the same lighter color...but maybe just because I have "old eyes"....folks like Tilly who can magically discern the slightest of shade varies might be able to answer the question. I still have NO IDEA how anyone can walk into a store and instantly KNOW that something on a peg is a slightly different shade than the same item in that person's HOME!

Truly a wizard, methinks.

These could very well be all exclusive models.

I remember that in an older Ambassador Report by Larry, someone asked if 2015 5-packs would be all exclusive or not.

"11. Will 5-Packs ever go back to all exclusive models or will they continue to have just one?
This is still TBD"

Because they did not say mainlines will be included, as they had done previous years when asked about the following years, I have a hunch that some all-exclusive 5-packs will make a return for 2015. This could be an early start.

Yes Tilley has a way with colors. :D
I use to be better at it, but now I don't like to take a chance and get something like this that I already have....I'm a little weird I guess but I'm always uncomfortable returning things to stores, so I seldom do.

I'm all for exclusive 5-packs, let's hope they do make a significant comeback. I'd love to see the comeback of the all exclusive 10 pack, or 9 nowadays, but when they included the all new castings issued that year in exclusive colors, those were always great.
