I figured I do a random-style thread, showing what the oldest diecast model or toy in your collection.

I have about three or four more toys that are just as old, if not older, but this is the one I've got that I can pin an exact year on. In addition to that, I've got some coins and books that are more than a hundred years old, including an old West Virginia State History book that's about 120 years old, which was found in the free bin at the library, but that's off topic.

As soon as I can pin an exact date on the other three, they'll go here as well.

Made, according to the decals, in 1952 or 1953. Nylint Hough Model HM Payloader

Oldest diecast in my collection so far is probably the Tootsie Packard taxi which I am guessing dates to the late '40s.

As for books, I believe I have one or two that are over a hundred years old. I have a coin silver (90%) cigar box turned jewelry box that is dated 1899. As coins go I have two Roman coins, so what?...about 200AD, give or take, so about 1800 years old.

Since I am not into vintage stuff this would be the oldest thing I have in my collection. This old Matchbox.

The oldest diecast in my collection would probably be a Lesney as well. I'm not sure what years what models were produced, so it might be close, maybe some of my Lone Star Impy's are older. As for non-diecast, I have a ton of stuff from WWI, and a few coins from the 1850's. I use to have a Roman coin but don't have it anymore. Somewhere my Mom has a single page from a Gutenberg Bible. The oldest thing I currently own is an ancient Egyptian oil pot that is somewhere around 3000 years old. I had a real dinosaur bone as a kid, wish I still had it. Somewhere in one of my parent's houses I probably still have a piece of Amber with a mosquito inside, like in Jurassic Park that they got for me when the movie came out.

Some of what's in my box below are probably the oldest. I don't really seek out these type of toys for my collection, but most of them came in a big fire truck lot I won on ebay a number of years ago, after getting them I found them kind if interesting.

This Lansing Slik-Toy fire engine could be the oldest, it appears to be shown on this image in O'Brien's collectors guide of a 1946 toy publication. Mine has no axles or wheels though. :D

I'm not exactly sure without looking. There's a tootsie that might actually be the oldest.

Got milk. Here is one of the older models in my collection. It is also a promo piece done for a local dairy out in Spokane, WA. They had milk bottle shaped stores in those days. I know one of them was still standing a few years ago - don't get out Spokane way like I used to so don't know if it is still there. But this very heavy milk bottle truck is a special part of my collection.

No antiques or chippers here. I guess the oldest are the later Johnny Lightnings. When Greenlight hit the pegs I lost interest in plenty of my older stuff and gave them away.
