Our book, " Encyclopedia of Small-Scale Diecast Motor Vehicle Manufacturers" states ( in summary as written by my co-author Kimmo Sahakangas) that Pioneer Toys Manufactury Ltd began operations in 1992 in Hong Kong. The names " Pro Engine and Street Machine" sometimes acconpany the Pioneer name on their packaging. They were marketed in 1999 by Hartin Intl. and the products are noted to be unlicenses. Have not heard much about them since our book was published in 2006.

Their website still showed new products for 2013....but nothing specifically mentioned 2014 that I can see. Couple of nice sets of police/fire vehicles (seen below) that haven't yet made it to ebay or Amazon or even Alibaba/Aliexpress....couldn't find them listed on TaoBao either. The multipacks (3-packs, 4-packs and 6-packs shown on the site for the latest fire and police rigs) are listed under the Street Machine brand name. Some folks in Italy (maybe also in Spain) apparently found them in stores during 2013 but they seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth since.....Posted Image

If, by some extremely slim chance, someone reading this post knows where to get some of these sets right now, PLEASE message me.

Thanks.

Yes they do. But try to find one. I think there may be only one pack in the entire world.

I'm resigned to the likelihood that those photos are the closest I'll come to having either set in my collection. I read parts of an Italian weblog of fire service collectors (back in late 2013 or early this year) and there were one or two comments about these castings that said they were cheap and flimsy (or something to that effect). In general, it seemed the few who had acquired them didn't like them very much.

I wonder if now those lucky few feel the same way, considering how the sets don't seem to exist anywhere except on the Pioneer web site any more.
