Have been moving some models around as I rearrange some shelves and these wreckers were among the items I was moving. Most are from Racing Champions/Route 66 days and the Studie is from M2...but as you can see...Mater snuck into a couple of the pictures.![]() ![]()

You gotta love that old Ford in picture one. Love the Studebaker in two. I don't have that one and that's a beautiful color. |

Tow trucks are always cool. Not seen the RC ones before. |

That old Ford visiting with Mater in the first pic is great looking! Wreckers always equated to emergency vehicles to me (automotive breakdown emergencies in this case) , which are all models I really enjoy collecting.

Some fire departments run wreckers as rescue units (LAFD), and as shows like Highway Thru H(e)ll have illustrated, wreckers can be crucial in extrications. In fact, fire departments got the idea of carrying the Porto Power (hand-pump bodywork tool that was later adapted for fire and rescue use) from towing companies, who in fact, did extrications. I saw a different version of that Studebaker in Walmart the other day. I wish I had bought it. Edited by cody6268, Dec 21 2014, 04:03 PM.
