1994 Chevrolet Suburban C2500

Another creation from the Funline (Action) 1:24 scale diecast Monster Garage series is this 1994 Chevrolet Suburban C2500 entitled "Wedding on Wheels". A number of these were on closeout at Big Lots about ten years ago.

The model is very heavy and has an ultra-bright silver metalflake paint job that the camera could not capture realistically. What is so cool about the Suburban is that there are many opening and moving parts. All six doors open, inside a calliope organ folds up and down, the wired organ keyboard and bench slide out, and the sheet music holder folds accordingly. In addition to all this, the two stained-glass roof panels arch to create a cathedral
ceiling effect, and the side rear doors both have a fold-down walkway to create a walk-through vestibule. Where the front passenger seat would have been are two large black air compressor tanks to power the organ and other equipment. Underneath is a full scale, complete spare chrome fifth wheel and tire. Plus a chrome exhaust system.

I added color to one of the originally unpainted stained-glass roof panels to match the factory-painted one. And the body side stripes, hood vents, door handles, and gas cap outline where all painted black.

Even though it's an unusual and a single-purpose vehicle model, the potential for various modifications seems fairly far ranging.

Thanks for looking...
