While I was on a ski trip, I stopped in at a discount store and found some Suntoys Castings for $1 (2006 Ford Mustang GT, Porsche Cayenne, Lincoln Navigator, Toyota Sequoia, Lexus IS, BMW X3, and this MINI Countryman) They also had a 5 pack and playsets, which I can post pics up if anyone is interested. Just let me know below.

This casting is one of their nicer pieces. I don't recall ever seeing this one before.

It captures the shape of a Countryman very well. The wheels leave a bit to be desired though...... But they aren't overly bad.....

As you can see, there are tampo'd MINI logos, painted lights and grille detailing.

Here t is compared to the Hotwheels Rally version

And now next to the Green Light MINI Clubman

For $1 car, the Suntoys model is really not bad at all. If I was still buying all sorts of stuff I would certainly want the GreenLight version - very nice. The Hot Wheels I would leave on the pegs.

Great new casting! Maybe a contender for next years' polls. This is the first I've heard of it.

I think Roses had these at one time, well this brand, not this particular car.

However, I don't think I've been in Roses for a year, as that store is very messy.

Never heard of Christmas Tree Shops before this. I just looked up the company, and the nearest location is in Hoover, Alabama..... -a mere 1828 miles away. Still debating if it's worth the drive to go get this new casting.

and can anyone speculate just how disappointed I would be if they were sold out when I arrived?

That's funny, I did the exact same thing since I had never heard of it either and that's also the closest store to me, although I'm a slightly more reasonable 672 miles from it.

Diecastmania: Do you have any pictures of the other castings, particularly the Lexus IS, Porsche Cayenne and Toyota Sequoia?

These are the same "Suntoys" cars that have been available at Dollar Tree, just with the Countryman being new. There should be pictures lingering around the Garage. Let me look around a bit.
I am curious (but doubtful) that the older castings may be in new colors.

I really enjoy these smaller brands that are trying to put out decent cars for low prices.

The ones here at my local Dollar Tree are layered in dust! I haven't seen these ones before apart from the BMW x5 and Mustang.

I found this Countryman as part of a five-pack set at the Las Vegas airport. It's well done with lots of detail. Definitely much nicer than that blob HW put out.

I see no one has mentioned the Subaru Impreza WRX that was done as the counterpart to that Citroen. Both were reasonably nice models at a very affordable price point.
