I'm from the early 60's, I'm all metal with nice detail considering my size. My narrow truck chassis is done very well. Not an identifying mark on me. I think my wheels are pretty cool and wonder if I may have siblings that share them.

Any clue Swifty Braintrust?

You know what I think? I think this is a dealer promo from the '60s. That's just a guess, but it certainly seems like one to me.

That could explain the lack of any other branding.

Found some catalog pics. Possible connection to Mini Dinky Construction vehicles?

Those are models that Mini Dinky copied. The Gibbs models were made in the USA. I had a bunch of them at one time - think fucumi has most of mine now! :)

Nice followup and you could be right about a possible Mini Dinky connection.

I think you just answered your own question MrFutura

That's a pretty cool Chevy truck too, but them tires that are too far in would drive me nuts every time I look at them.

Are these easy to come by? I'd love to pick up several, in fact, every one in the catalog, as I like them all!

They did come on a plain promo box as well along with a tandem dumper and a cab over with van trailer. I have a window boxed version in blue I haven't pictured yet and I saw a carded one on another board years ago.

Yes there's a Mini-Dinky connection, a Lit'l Toy connection, a Mercury connection, Kidco and Universal. A few models are easy to come by- the Universal castings, the Mini Dinkys are usually overpriced, Lit'l Toys and Gibbs when boxed fetch fair prices and you better pack a lunch for the Italians when boxed.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. This blue one is the first I have ever seen. I took a chance and bought it for $10. The seller didn't know what he had either. I would say these definitely hard to come by.

Open mouth, insert foot.

There's quite a few Gibbs on ebay right now, some reasonable, some pretty high.

I had quite a few of these in my collection at one time (think Jim/Fucumi has most of them now :) ). The ones in my collection were purchased brand new at a US Air Force PX store in the early 1960's in the Gibbs window boxes. It makes me wonder though what other stores might have carried this line of models? I am guessing maybe hobby stores of the day but does anyone here at the Garage remember buying them new?

Looks like they made some nice models, I wouldn't mind finding one of those pick ups myself.
