I've finally decided to buy a Corgi Aston Martin DB5, but have ran into a little issue. I want one of the originals, but I keep hearing "remake" come up frequently. What is the difference between the remakes and the original. I know Hornby just came out with one, and I see old ones that look like the original, and even have an old patina, but the seller claims they are a remake. Could anyone show me the various "remakes" and the originals, and how to differentiate between them? They seem to all say "Made in Gt. Britain" on the base plate, so I'm not exactly sure what's made when. I've included pics of the bases of both the one that's supposedly a reproduction (it's half the price of the original I'm looking at, and has a patina that makes it look like it's got some age to it), and the original. If the one that's a reproduction is in fact a reproduction when was it made? The original ![]() Alleged "remake" (seller says it is a remake) ![]() Edited by cody6268, Jan 27 2015, 07:29 PM.
