A model train buddy of mine in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and I trade things back and forth, this time he sent me a box of some trains, and some vintage AMC diecast, from the Matchbox Javelin AMX and Gremlin dirt track car to the Hotwheels Packin' Pacers, and a Tootsietoy Gremlin. Some good stuff in this shipment! He finds all kinds of diecast cheap at yardsales in NE, I can't believe some of the outrageously (cheap) prices he's paid for stuff, but then again, not much out there but farmland and UP trains. Yes, Nebraska is rather wide open spaces...like much of the Great Plains/upper Midwest. Those Union Pacific trains do add some nice color when you are cruising down I-80. You certainly got some nice AMC goodies out of this trade.

I guess the side wire is a "kick-stand", for holding it up to view from flat. Why you'd do that, I don't know. The whole front sprung mechanism is also a mystery to me. Interesting proto-type for sure. Jerry |

It looks to me to be a mechanism to flip it over on a front bumper impact ? |
