Was already in the Ambassador's Report, which, as usual, is posted at the Lamley Group. Lambo LM002--will of course be buying it. Perhaps one of the best non-emergency services models in a long time. Pasadena FD E-350 ambulance--I'll be getting it, but I will be swapping the base out for one with dish wheels, since the wheels are crimped in place on metal baseplate models. City Bus--what the heck?! Another model goofed up with plastic? This is the main reason I've been building up my modern Majorette , Siku and Tomica collections as of lately. Express Delivery--what a pathetic excuse for an EMS model. I hope Matchbox brings back the old metal bodied version with the opening rear door in a premium line--preferably in the Supreme Heroes line as a dive rescue or air cascade unit. Anyway, I've decided to build my collection of EMS-related Code 2 models, preferably by getting them from the actual agency themselves, such as I've already done with the STARS BK-117 and Bluefield, Virginia Rescue Squad 1950 Ford Panel Van. Fire Plane--looks excellent. Edited by cody6268, Mar 5 2015, 09:42 PM.

The Mustang II is a Mustang too!

The Rambo Lambo looks gorgeous! Wow, this one's already in contention for casting of the year for the orange side of Mattel. |

I saw a 1:1 of these in person as a kid and almost fell over in envy. They look so cool but if they drive like a first generation Hummer does than no thanks.. This Lambo and their Cheetah prototype are two of my favorites though. The Cheetah ![]() Tomica version..

This or the Alfa 4C will have my vote for Matchbox casting of the year. This was a great choice for Matchbox, and these first pictures look fantastic. I'm extremely impressed with how accurate this appears to be. Here are a few pictures of the Kyosho version for comparison.![]()

Hehe, maybe a little. But it does go to show how good the $1 Matchbox looks to be. It might not be as detailed, but it looks every bit as accurate. |

I hope Ben will show us comparison photos when the Matchbox version hits the pegs...... are those Kyoshos 1:64, or larger? |

Absolutely. As soon as I find one of the Matchbox ones I'll do a comparison. Yes, the Kyosho are true 1/64. |

From the pictures the Kyosho versions seem to have sharper/crisper lines. The Matchbox version appears to have more rounder/softer lines. Matchbox also appears to have more paint that Kyosho.............which is typical. Greg |

I think scale probably has something to do with this. The Matchbox version will be "3-inch" scale (even if it has a "scale" stamped in the base....we all know it may not be that accurate based on past experience...). Note the Kyosho castings have realistic rails on the back while the Matchbox prepro is a solid cast representation of those rails. I think the Matchbox model is going to be HTF because it will immediately attract collector interest. Kyosho are essentially only available in my neck of the woods by mail order, ebay, or other online sources (including trading agreements among forum members...) Anything that can show Mattel that Matchbox models CAN sell when they're realistic and licensed is a good thing, IMHO. |
