Today's car of the day comes from GothicCarsUrban's collection, and is Hasbro's 1946 Dodge WC Armored Car (Batman Forever Two-Face Car).

Wikipedia

Dodge began producing light trucks immediately upon its formation in 1914. For the first few years these were based largely on the existing passenger cars, later specific chassis and body designs were used. Light- and medium-duty models were offered first, then a heavy-duty range was added during the 1930s and 1940s. Dodge produced its first prototypes of dedicated military trucks in late 1939: the 1/2 ton 4x4 VC series. Production of the VC series started in 1940.[3] At the outset of World War II, Dodge produced the G-505 WC ½ ton series of military light trucks in 38 individual models, thousands of some models were produced, while only a few of some others were made.

GCU pointed out that this is identified as a 1946 by the IMCDB (movie car database). Seeing pictures of the actual truck from the movie, this toy version looks far more car-like than the tall truck from the Batman film.

This movie car from the Batman Forever film is a Hasbro casting, which was marketed in Kenner packaging. In some multi-packs, this casting could be found alongside the Yat Ming Buick Roadmaster in green with black question mark tampos (The Riddler's car). It appears Kenner reached out to other manufacturers to supply the Batman Forever themed cars.

Now that's cool, and one I hadn't seen before either. Looking at the picture on IMCDb of the real movie vehicle, I wish it had been more truck and less car, but it still has a really great look to it and works well with the car like proportions.

Thanks. I got this one for $1 at an antique store. Saved the package (card only, I don't *ever* save bubbles) and will post both sides if wanted

And I'm sorry about the backdrop of the casting, with the stains and color, had to set up an improvised photo booth with cardboard from the dumpster because my living room was taken up by me rearranging it and stopping for unknown reasons halfway thru

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Add me to the list of never having seen this car (or series of cars).

That would make sense as Kenner hasn't really done much in the way of small scale diecast cars since selling the FastOnes toolings to Universal in the early 80s. Kenner didn't really do well with small scale toy cars, although their larger stuff seemed to do well enough (especially the SSTs, which are still highly sought and collected).

It would make sense Kenner would reach out to others to make models to fill a contract and package them as needed.

This is an interesting model, good to see "up close." I've been wanting to find one for my collection, and seeing this confirms my want. I would also be interested in seeing the Buick mentioned, although if it looks as described I think a tampo wipe would be in order.

Thanks! Not even a tampo wipe will help that color combo...
