I almost bought that 9-pack yesterday for that exclusive livery. But then I opted for the one with the silver Karman Ghia instead. Tow truck or cool convertible.....tough choice. It's warmer than 'normal' 'round here, so I opted for the top down, 'stead of the pick up.

That's the problem. Matchbox makes too many packs with a nice exclusive, and some great models that aren't bad at all, but half crappy generic fantasy models. Every one I encounter is nearly half generics. But, as to keep this thread positive, the rest are great. In fact, the only way I was able to acquire the F-550 mini pumper and the Boone County, MO Charger was through a 9-pack. I see several still I'm going to have to get, as I need the F-350 Superlift to complete my collection of that casting (well, all but the original SEMA Exclusive) and the Crown Vic in another. I also would like to get the Karmann Ghia, which is in another as well.

Like with you Dave, I like this casting alot, and collected many, not nearly what you've got though :D , but like Blair and Cody I skipped it, not for another set though, although I did buy the set with the Ford Superlift in white about the time I saw this one, but it's just hard to buy 8 other models I either have, or didn't really want.....But this model sure looks nice, and I might just still get it.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Wish they'd put a different hook on it. But it is just a toy. I'll still buy it.

It might look bad, but it serves a purpose--hooking to a vehicle. The boom has a leaf spring on it. Press down on the boom, roll the truck until the hook is under another Matchbox vehicle, then let go. The car will be secured to the truck. In fact, I had my GMC wrecker ( black with GMC Service which came with one of the license plate books) for as long as I can remember--maybe 13 or 14 years at least, and have only known about that mechanism for maybe two or three of those years.

Although this version isn't as good as the '80s and early '90s releases, I'll still get it.

Wow, Cody! You probably just "sold" me on buying that 9-pack.....I had no idea the tow hook/boom functioned like that!

Hmmmm....maybe I really DO need to PLAY with my collection more....
