Welly's 1997 Ford F-150 Flareside 4x4 is the truck for today.

The Ford F-Series is a series of full-size pickup trucks from the Ford Motor Company which has been sold continuously since 1948. The most popular variant of the F-Series is the F-150. It has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States for the past 32 years,[1] and the best-selling pick-up for 43 years,[2] and the best selling vehicle in Canada,

In January 2003, the redesigned F-150 using the new P2 platform was introduced at the 2003 NAIAS. Designed by Tyler Blake under Patrick Schiavone between 1999 and January 2000. The styling was a revolutionary, more angular update of the PN-96.[2] On August 29, 2000, the final production design was frozen. Development began in 1997, with scheduled production for September 2002 alongside the U222 Expedition. Development later ended in 2003 due to delays. The side windows also changed to a Kenworth "Daylight Door" and Ford Super Duty-like appearance; dipping towards the front of the door. Initially, only Ford's 4.6 L Triton or new 3-valve 5.4 L 3V Triton V8 engines and four-speed automatic transmissions were offered to the retail public on the new trucks. For the 2005 model year, Ford's 4.2 L Essex V6 and manual transmission became available and standard on base models after they were available only for fleet orders for 2004 and automatic headlamps became available.

Welly has continued on with fair enough representations of models in the past ten years. They're a bit difficult to find though they're worth looking into.

Looking back at body styles, is this actually the earlier 10th generation ('97-'03)?

Not bad looking for a Matchbox level model.

Yes it is. And the casting dates back to around '98 or '99.

A great choice for COTD!

I think I had one in gold back then that broke.

I've got to get another, but people seem to want exorbitant money for these trucks.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I guess we can't overstate that Welly is difficult to get in the U.S., especially in any large volume stores. There are so many nice releases over the past ten years or so that I never saw.
