The Granite line was first introduced in 2001 from Mack. It's a versatile platform from which multiple commercial applications can be built from. They can be equipped with diesels that produce in excess of 500 horse power.

Scored this from a massive haul at the 2015 St. Louis Farm Toy Show held back in February. It's the most I've ever spent on a 1/64 scale truck though the working features are standouts. There is a chrome wheel variation for this model as well in addition to the painted white rims that my model has. This is a Minnesota snow plow truck for those wondering about the door tampos.

This model is simply phenomenal. From the details to the working features, this is simply an awesome piece.

Congrats on acquiring it, and thanks for showing it! It is my hope that I'll be able to obtain one of these in the future.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
I'd probably put this one in a clear display case and not play with it!

does the plow come off ? only thing I see missing is the side blade , I have one that shows up at my driveway every snowfall that leaves 20 ft wide of street snow at the end of my driveway,....Gorgeous truck !!!!!

The plow is permanently attached to the truck via two plastic retainers. Otherwise I would have removed it for at least a picture. Will also add the truck has a separate transmission and drive shaft formed from plastic pieces as well.

Looks like the "state truck of North Dakota" and they were out in force in the western part of the state this morning. This is a great looking model from Spec Cast - one of very high quality and detail.

It's true 1/64. I'll try and get a comparison picture within a few days.

this is one of my all time favorites- I've got it in white and another in chrome wheels when it went on clearance... if you don't mind, here's a shot of it in the wild somewhere in the North Star State:

but, I hate to say it, as much as I am also a SpecCast fan; this is a First Gear model.

Two collectors saying SpecCast.
Diomakr, is yours definitely a First Gear? And are these maybe the same truck down by two companies?

sorry, but I beg to differ. it is definitely a first gear model. 3000 toys still has them listed. here's is the link:

http://www.3000toys.com/First-Gear-Minnesota-D_O_T_-Mack-Granite-Dump-Truck/sku/FIRST%20GEAR69-0108C

as you can see in the link- it says FIRST GEAR right in the web address.

also, speccast, which I am a big fan of , doesn't do mack granites, and none of the speccast models that I know of- and I have 30 or so SpecCast trucks, have opening doors, turning wheels or opening hoods.

I have about 20 of the FG granites in assorted variations- they have opening doors, turning wheels and opening hoods and some have removable accessories ( newer FG models don't all have opening doors though) if you still don't believe me, I even still have one in the box... :)

When I originally took this set of pictures, I also shot an entire week's worth of COTD entries in quite a bit of a hurry. Went and looked at the box again and it is indeed a First Gear model. On occasion, I make mistakes. This would be one of those times.
