This week, we've got a different sort of theme for CotD. Each car will be one of my finds from 2015's Keystone Diecast CARnival, held last weekend in Denver, PA. It's truly a wonderful show and I, along with many others, took home some absolutely fantastic pieces. Here's a couple of threads with more finds: http://swiftysgarage.net/single/?p=8344233&t=6880078 http://swiftysgarage.net/topic/7369804/1/#new So sit back and enjoy! We hope to see you next year! ![]() Today's Car of the Day is Greenlight's 1964 Chrysler 300K Convertible. ![]()
![]() For more information on today's car, click here! ![]() This particular version is one of the event cars from the 2015 Keystone Diecast CARnival! I love the parade car motif and this may be my favorite of all the KDC event cars. ![]() My collection is very short on Chryslers (plenty of Dodges and Fiats, just not much with the Chrysler marque), and that's a shame, because between this and the Matchbox Atlantic concept the few I have are very cool. Most of the cars Chrysler has branded 300 over the decades have been stand-out designs, and this one is no exception.

Wonderful model from CARnival. The '63 and '64 Chryslers to me always looked better in hardtop station wagon form than in regular sedans. The convertible is an improvement over the sedans as it lacks somewhat funky styling and the strange C-pillar. |

While I agree with Crafty regarding the styling (LOVE the wagons!), the 300 wasn't available as a wagon. What the 300 was at the time, is the ultimate performance level factory hot rod. 300s would smoke effectively every other factory issue American car on the road at the time, prior to the advent of true "muscle cars." The 300's performance was the benchmark target everyone else was gunning for. |

Great theme, both for the COTD week and for the parade car itself. Definitely a very nice casting and the deco is very nicely executed. |
