Today's car of the day is Majorette's 2011 Citroen DS4

Posted Image

Wikipedia

The Citroën DS4 is the second model in the new premium (luxury vehicle) DS sub-brand created by Citroën to run alongside its mainstream cars. It was officially launched in 2011 internationally, but already on sale in some countries in late 2010. Based upon the Citroën C4 II, it features raised suspension to resemble a compact SUV and repositioned door handles to give a coupe-like silhouette. The rear windows are fixed, and do not slide or open outwards

This is another nice example of how nice Majorette's can be. Full tampos on the front, back and side, who says basic range cars can't be well done too?

Wikipedia

The petrol engines that power the DS4 are a product of a collaboration between PSA and BMW. All are 1,598 cc four-cylinder, 16-valve units. The base VTi 120 is normally aspirated and puts out 120 PS (88 kW). As its name implies it comes with variable valve timing. The next engine up is the THP 155, essentially a turbo-charged version of the VTi. It puts out 156 PS (115 kW) thanks to a twin-scroll turbocharger and dual overhead cams. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The most powerful gas engine available in the DS4 is the THP 200. It's a variation of the THP 155 previously mentioned but pushed to 200 PS (147 kW).

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Now, this is really a very nice Majorette!! I have a few good ones, but most I have in my collection are old ones that are still in my collection only for "interesting attempts in diecast." I hope they make many more as nice as this Citroen.

The "jewelled" headlights are a very nice touch...shows what can be done with thoughtful engineering.

:toy: It is so nice to see Majorette's available again - granted not in the US but still great to know they are business and making great, well detailed toy cars. Great looking Citroen and the front and rear tampo really sets it apart from much of the offerings from Matchbox.

Unlike early DSes, this doesn't look goofy at all.

Majorette always does better than Matchbox or Hot Wheels, and at often at around the same price. This is no exception.

Looks great!

I wish a major US chain would pick up Majorette. Amazon is about the only online US dealer, but they only have about half a dozen different items, mostly garages.

Wow! Excellent choice for CoTD. Majorette knocks another outta the park. This is how it's done...Mattel take notice. It's an actual car with no goofy tampos.

Gone of the day with round headlamps. I kind of miss it myself. I think that's one thing I enjoy more about my stang is those round lamps.

On the one hand, it's nice to see that Majorette is capable of producing a really nice model. On the other hand, just where the heck does Citroen get off calling this bland-looking thing a DS??? A REAL Citroen DS has a distinctive character never before or since seen in any car. This is just another exercise in "Me too" styling.

Nice model, yeah. Will it get my vote for "Car Of The Week"? Not bloody likely!

I recently got one of these shipped in for my collection, and I really like it, despite not being familiar with the real car. I'm impressed with many of the recent Majorette offerings, and of course it pains me that none of these European brands cranking out really nice models get any U.S. peg space next to the Mattel toys.

My thoughts exactly. If I were to see one on the street there isn't a whole lot that distinguishes it from other five doors from other companies.

Still like Majorette's attention to detail and castings of everyday cars.
