When it comes to beverage trucks, I normally only collect Coke trucks, but that's definitely one good looking Pepsi Truck! Is this a mini truck or something, as with 3" scale, that means 1/55 would mean it isn't much bigger than a Jeep. It's always great to finally cross off a holy grail. It seems there are many Tomicas that don't even show up that often, even in the wild! |

That is a great addition to your collection. At one time I had the white version in my collection but never the yellow one - it looks sharp in yellow.

Not seen that before, it's a beauty, Congrats on finding it. I think a lot of the old, maybe new too, Japanese vehicles are tiny little things in real life, I remember noticing the scale on Tomicas "First Datsun" model, I believe 1/49, and realized how tiny the real car would be next to my F150.

In Japan, and a lot of other countries, they tax based on engine size, that's why kei cars, as they're called in Japan are so popular. I've seen many that are essentially golf cars they are so small. I remember seeing a Subaru 360 van on TV a couple weeks ago that fit in the bed of a pickup! |

Sad firefighter
|
Here I go hijacking a thread again, but this is sort of on topic (small Tomica castings of very small Japanese cars....) Here are comparison photos of the LV-68 Subaru Sambar fire engine (1/64 according to its base) and LV-N36 Hino KB324 Chemical fire engine (1/64....which I trust as accurate) side-by-side. Even though I trust both scales as accurate thanks to Tomy's attention to detail, that Sambar sure looks like those big firemen would have a difficult time squeezing into the Sambar.....there must be a shift of smaller firefighters scheduled just to drive the Sambars..... ![]() ![]() Anyway, congrats on finding your "grail"....and it's great seeing this discussion of how small these cars and trucks are in 'real life'. |

I found a Picture online of a TN3 next to some motorcycles. This should give you an idea on how small these little trucks are.
