What's that number 3 in the back. I saw a commercial with Earnhardt saying his Dad and Grandfather drove Chevrolets a family tradition but Dale Sr's Dad raced some Fords and believe it or not I seen Dale Sr. using a Ford Truck to work I think it was his farm in long ago documentary.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...there once were Esso Stations. :D Great service station theme - really liking Pearson's car back in the garage area - is the other white car in the shop the same one or for another driver?

Looks like someone parked the other car in the garage a LITTLE TOO CLOSE to the No. 3! Good thing they're already IN the garage.....now, is the mechanic a good body-guy? There's got to be some scratches or creases in the side of that car.....

Daniel: Ralph Earnhardt raced basically whatever the car owner would put under him, but when he built his own cars, they were usually Chevys. That #3, however, wouldn't have been Ralph's car: He drove car #8. Meanwhile, Dale, Sr. Wasn't exclusively a Chevy driver over the course of his career. had a pink '56 (?) Ford as his first race car, drove a '74 Dodge Charger in his first Winston Cup race (the 1976 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte), and drove for Bud Moore for a year and a half in the #15 Wrangler Thunderbird. He had been with Richard Childress for a time driving the #3 Wrangler Monte Carlo, but was so hard on the equipment that Childress couldn't afford to keep him! Basically, he and Moore traded drivers, with Dale going over to Bud Moore for the last half of the 1982 season and all of 1983, while Ricky Rudd went from the #15 Moore T-Bird to the Childress #3 Monte Carlo. Wrangler decided to go with Dale, but stayed with Childress as well due to contractual obligations, so for a year and a half there were two cars, a Ford and a Chevy, on the track sponsored by Wrangler Jeans!

Thank you for the background information on the various rides of Dale Earnhardt.

Interesting you said Dale was hard on the equipment but I remember faintly that the old thunderbird had engines that couldn't stay in one piece. LOL Thanks again man and I wanted to tell you I voted for your Corvair.

Way cool pic! Are those Pontiacs in the garage RCCA castings? I joined that club 'back in the day' because they had castings of models that weren't available in 1/64 scale - '61 Pontiac, '63 Chevy, '63 Ford, '63(?) Dodge. That looks like one of the ones I bought.

Yes, the Pontiac's are some of the RCCA castings - I, too, belonged to their "club" and got many of those vintage NASCAR stockers - someplace it said I had a lifetime membership but not sure who's lifetime that meant.

I use to be in the club too. Finally after the Nascar market was flooded and I just gave it up. It's funny you are suppose to have a lifetime membership but soon as I stopped buying the newsletters stopped.

I thought I recognized those Pontiacs. I bought some cars when they clearanced them, mainly for customs. I still have a few untouched ones left.
I'm with you and Daniel on the "lifetime" supposed deal, too. (I don't remember dying.....)
