I posted this in my Showroom thread, but since this is bound to be a popular model I figured I'd post it here too. There is an included lip spoiler, but I left it on the spru. It looks fine without it and I don't want to damage such a beautiful model. Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo by Michael, on Flickr Toyota Supra 2.0 GT Twin Turbo (2) by Michael, on Flickr |

I'm a little annoyed that with how much these cost, Tomy couldn't install all the pieces themselves... |

So, in order to put the lip spoiler on, you have to remove the spoiler that's already on the car? Other than that, it's a lovely model and it's on my want list.

No you don't have to remove anything, it's just like the real thing, a small black plastic spoiler attached to the bumper. I don't know if you need to glue it because I left it on the spru. It displays fine without it. Edited by MKZ, Jun 22 2015, 01:43 PM.

The car needs the front lip to look proper:![]() Yes it's quite ridiculous that they make you put it on. But who cares. It's there, it comes with the model, and the model is awesome. TLV cars are very specific to a model and they replicate it to the exact T. They would never put something aftermarket onto the car. This isn't bad though.. The fender mirrors on the Century are worse. No pre-drilled holes, nothing. Just take a guess at where it goes and hope your glue holds up. Edited by clem24, Jun 30 2015, 01:10 AM.

Clem's post above has a photo with the lip spoiler on the model... it's the black piece of plastic below the bumper. It is a subtle difference from the original picture, but as Clem mentioned, it's accurate to the real model. |

I was actually wondering how the front lip was supposed to go on. Eventually, I just decided to super glue it, which thankfully went without incident. But I can see how this could create frustration among collectors - who wants to pay that much for a model, and then go to the trouble of putting on trim pieces and possibly wrecking it? Then again: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2015/06/04/the-ultimate-hakosuka-skyline-model/ |
