Today's SUV of the day is Norev's 2015 Citroen C4 Cactus

Wikipedia

The Citroën C4 Cactus is a small family car produced by French automaker Citroën in Spain. The C4 Cactus is considered a C-segment car in Europe although it is based on the small PF1 platform that underpins the Citroën C3 and DS3. A unique design feature is the “Airbump” panels on the car's sides, designed to protect the vehicle from damage in car parks. They are available in contrasting colours.

When it comes to cars, the French love to be different. Sometimes being different just for different sake turns into a big mess, sometimes it turns into something fresh and unique. The C4 Cactus I would argue falls firmly into the latter category and I think is a nice take on a different approach to do SUV styling.

Wikipedia

Production started in spring 2014 in PSA’s Villaverde factory in Madrid, Spain with sales to start in France in June 2014. It is a 5 door crossover hatchback in Touch, Feel and Flair trim levels and is powered by 1.2 L I3 cylinder petrol and 1.6 L I4 cylinder diesel engines.

Interesting vehicle. I wonder if Europeans actually take them at least soft roading, or if they're condemned to mall trips like most SUVs in the US?

Compact
The latter, no 4wd options nor trick diffs etc. nice if odd car though. Supposed to be comfortable ride like Citroens of old. Some come with a bench front seat.

It's on our list of possible next cars.

Nice model too, I've got the more normal looking steel grey version.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Great diecast, but I wonder how I'd feel about owning the real car. I don't think I could be that excited driving this car to work (or anywhere else).

Veeeery interesting....

That skylight is quite different, I'd feel like a bug under a magnifying glass.

Norev models are always nice - even odd looking Citroen's...then again think how many Citroen's are odd looking.
