Today's car of the day is Welly's 2012 BMW 335i

Wikipedia

The BMW F30 is an internal corporate chassis designation for the BMW 3 series of cars. The series is the sixth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars. It is the successor to the E90 model and was unveiled by automaker BMW on October 14, 2011 in Munich, Germany.

The world premiere was broadcast live over the internet through Facebook. It was released as a 2012 model and has been on sale since early 2012. The F30 sedan was launched on February 11, 2012 by BMW Press. The car is also available with different body styles.

Welly's recent offerings are much nicer than some of their older castings and are somewhere in between Matchbox/Majorette and Norev in quality. This is perhaps my favorite model from them. The 335 is one of my favorite cars to drive and is still the benchmark with which to judge in the segment. I really like the styling of the current generation too, the connected headlights give it just a little more feline quality of athleticism. This model could stand to have rear tampos on the taillights, but it was part of a low cost multipack so I guess corners had to be cut somewhere.

Wikipedia

Designed by Christopher Weil under design chief Adrian Van Hooydonk (till March 1, 2009), the new BMW 3 Series has grown in all dimensions compared to its predecessor. The styling is similar to previous generations with a sweeping bonnet, short front overhang, and long wheelbase typical of previous generation BMW. The front and back of the BMW 3 Series is now wider (+ 34/77 mm at the front/rear) with a slightly forward-slanting BMW kidney grille. The rectangular headlights extend up to the frame of the kidney grille merging the headlight and grille adding further emphasis to a more broader stance. Exterior mirrors also have integrated turn signal lights. The rear lights return to the traditional BMW L-shaped design positioned at the outer edge of the back end. The interior continues BMW design by angling the cockpit towards the driver by seven degrees. In the driver's area all the lines converge on a single point behind the wheel. Positioned on the horizontally-structured instrument panel is the freestanding iDrive monitor. Large drink holders are now integrated into the centre console in front of the gearshift lever. The BMW 3 Series can also be ordered with three distinct design variants. The Sport Line, Luxury Line, and Modern Line features different exterior and interior design elements for each line, with black trim for the Sport Line, satinated aluminium for the Modern Line and high gloss chrome for the Luxury Line. The Modern Line was discontinued for the US Market for the 2013 model year.

Welly has come a *long* way since their humble beginnings copying others.

:toy: Welly you say...I had to look twice as this is so much nicer than the early Welly models. As Wes has noted they have come a long ways over the years and are putting out some nice looking cars - to bad they are not the easiest ones to find in stores.

Very Nice. My wife drives on of these and it Flies!! hers is a twin turbo I believe. I drive a 650I and sadly her 335I leaves mine in the dust. its pretty sad when you think of how her car cost literally half of what mine did LOL.

Awesome! I've never driven a 650, but have driven a 750 and I'd take the 335 all day long based on how it drives. But based on looks, well the 650 definitely has it beat there.

I love Welly, and am appreciative that they replicated the latest 3-series, but the front fascia on this Welly doesn't look right to me. A little too much scrunch? Headlights too low? I can't exactly put my finger on why this doesn't just pop for me.
