I am brand new to this board. Found out about it on another site. Going to try my best to make it to the CARnival this year. Haven't had much luck collecting since I moved back to PA. Hopefully this will kickstart things for me!

I wasn't sure where to post this, but I will be looking for Muscle Machines as well as Johnny Lightning GTOs and Pontiacs. Hopefully I will be able to find some. Also, are there any customizers that go to this event? In addition, I've been thinking about setting up a table and trying to sell some 1:18, custom 1:18 and some Hot Wheels stuff but I didn't want to be that "new" moving in unannounced. What are the big selling items at this event?

This is more of a 1/64 muscle car crowd. Johnny Lightning, GreenLight, M2, etc. would probably be the best items though it never hurts to have some variety (never know who's going to be there or what they're looking for). We do have some customizers who've attended in the past and several who've expressed interest in attending this year (really hoping Jeff & Steve can both make it!). We also have gravity racing and banger racing events, so expect last minute sales of heavy plastic-wheeled cars before the racing starts.

That's cool. Always looking to add to my Johnny Lightning GTO collection! I'm sure I'll find something. Looking more like I'll just be there to enjoy the show. Not gonna sell anything this time around. Thanks again!

Hi Swifty,
It's Marty Moyer. I was set up as a vendor at CARnival in 2015, had a great time selling, and got involved in a little racing too!! I finally joined the board so I could ask -- who do I contact to be a vendor again this year?? Please supply a phone number so I can reserve a spot!! Thanks, Marty

You're on the list - I haven't posted a table sign-up yet but I'll get that up in the next few days. How many tables would you like this year?

Swifty, thanks for getting back to me. I'd like 3 tables this year. I'll scale back a bit, but still have great variety of stuff. Also, I will only stay for Saturday. I have two possibilities on Sunday - either the Hershey show others are talking about (I'm on the waiting list), or a Car Part Swap at Leesport Market. Hopefully that's OK with you guys. Would you mind if I post here what I plan to bring?

That's fine on both counts. I'm probably going to lead an expedition over to Hershey for those wishing to stick around on Sunday. Hopefully you get in!

Hey Sean,
Can you give us some more details about going to Hershey on Sunday? What time would we head out; how long does it take to get there; admission price; details about the event; etc.

Thanks!

You got it! Doors should open around 9AM. It's almost a straight shot down 322 to get there, so I'm going to say about an hour of travel. We'll leave at 8AM to get there around 9 (maybe a few minutes early or a few minutes late depending on traffic). Admission price gets you into the AACA Museum (the toy show is set up around the cars) for $7 (which is less than the museum's usual $12 admission). The good news is that the museum's not far from I-81. I'm not sure how you usually come out, but whenever I head out your way I take take I-81 North to I-84.

http://www.aacamuseum.org/blog/2016/04/24/spring-fling-collectibles-toy-show/

This is the first time they've done a Spring Fling, but their regular September show is where I find some of my best scores each year.

Meaning, it'll be tough not to spend all my cash at CARnival if I go to the second show. But sounds like a lot of fun.

When I get there, I will be looking for Simpson's car & station wagon. So if you have those, set them out for me!

Marty's Update:
I'll be setting up on three tables at CARnival this year. I'll have basic Hot Wheels and Matchbox, M2s, Johnny Lightning, Racing Champions, Green Light, Stock Rods. Muscle Machines, Jada, etc. For those that customize, I have some NASCAR cars that have rubber tires, or possibly body types that you might want. Of course, I'll also have some loosies that might be good for parts. Look forward to seeing and making more friends!!

For those that don't know -- I'm from the west side of Reading, only about 15 minutes from Denver. I set up at the Sunday flea markets at Leesport Market from April until December, plus various other toy, diecast, and car-related shows. If my upload worked, I'm attaching a schedule of places I'll be in the near future. You can also look for my ad on Craigslist. I thought I would do the Hershey show on Apr. 24th, but they never got back to me and I decided to do a 'car part swap' at Leesport that day.

See you on April 23rd at CARnival 2016!!

Marty Moyer
