I recently got the rare, elusive (and expensive) 42-1 Datsun 1300 Truck.
The Hong Kong made first version of this differs from the later Japan and
China made versions as it has a separate grille and a rear window.

And in comparison with the later casting.

And the Limited version with a printed rear window and grille.

Neat to see the Hong Kong version and the comparison with the Japanese version. At one time I had one of the Japanese versions in my collection. I really like that blue limited version - it really looks sharp in that light blue color!

Congrats on your rare find Ron, I would even like to add any one of them you show, but all of them are fantastic.

Excellent find! Looks to be in great condition.
Don't have any of them yet, so didn't know about the differences. Now I do.

Mind if I ask where you found it?

Cool. I have the blue 1300 and a red 1200. Never seen your other 1300s

That's a bit disappointing that the rear window went away, but it's still a cool truck either way.

Hi Mike, this one came out of States via eBay and a lot less expensive than the few I've seen in Japan.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Ha! Well, I guess sometimes good things do come out of eBay. Congrats!
