Really like the classic lines of the Tomica Mitsuoka so that is the one I voted for this week.

If you've been following my comments this past week, you probably noticed I was coming off a little sarcastic. I apologize to anyone who I may have offended. Thing is, I was (and am still) in the depths of my longest-lasting and deepest bout of Bi-Polar Depression ever. 23 days and counting. Having said that, please forgive me for not being overly thrilled with this week's selection. None of the cars on this weeks would stand a chance of getting into my collection short of being a misdirected outright gift. Once again, no offense is intended for anyone who likes these cars or owns these particular models. Just consider it to be more out there for YOU to find!I think I'm going to see if I can come up with some submissions for this thread - Lord knows I have enough that I consider worthy of being named "Car Of The Week" I know they're too big at 1:43, but I have 4 Hubley Corvair wagons that you guys might find interesting. Have the JL Corvairs been "Car Of The Day" yet? Any version of the HW "Vairy-8"?

Hey Jim, no need to explain. Some cars "do-it" for some people, and those same cars just don't for others. I like all kinds and try to mix things up a bit, plus with years and years of daily COTD, a lot of the traditionally jaw-dropping stuff that everyone can agree on, has already been featured. Although 1/43 are welcome to be shown and discussed in the bays, it was decided years ago that COTD would stick to small-scale exclusively (1/76 - 1/55 scales and/or 3-inch models). In checking the COTD records, the only Covair models run have been the JL Coupe, JL Convertible, and HW Greenbrier Van. I'd be happy to work with you on featuring others. We can talk shop by PM if you'd like to get it arranged. A cool bit of trivia; the white JL Corvair Coupe was featured during the very first week that COTD existed, back in February 2008, and it won the Car Of The Week title for that week! |
