I like that Majorette's 4Runner has 4 doors, like the vast majority of the 1:1s you see on the road around here, while Matchbox's version is a 2 door model; every time I see a 4Runner on the street, I look to see if it's like Matchbox's or Majorette's. So far, Majorette is ahead about 50 to 1.....(unscientific survey...)

That's important (to me) because I want to do a custom 4Runner based on a 1:1 civil service rig, and the 1:1 has 4 doors....so the Matchbox model wouldn't be an accurate model of the inspiration.

Matchbox's 4Runner is based on the first generation 4Runner, and as such it is properly depicted as a 2-door. And the rear canopy was removable in the real version.

Thanks. If Majorette had made the 2-door version, it probably would have had a removable shell...... ^_^

I like this one a lot myself. It and a 4-dr 89-ish Ford looking pickup are the reasons I bought a 5-pak of NOVACARS at a Hills store. [That's a few days ago  ] All are metal base & plastic body and just say NOVACAR on the base, and I think my Runner is red with race deco.

Sounds like you got yourself the Nissan Pathfinder. :)
The 4Runner was a Majorette original, and was never part of the Novacar line.
