He's a pro athlete who was dating (married to?) one of those aliens from Star Trek that shallow people are obsessed with keeping up with so the media considers him to be really important. Then add on his recent drama (drugs+sex+near death) that might be compelling if he was someone who was actually important and they're going to milk that ratings cow until it's udders chafe. Or something like that, I try to avoid paying attention to that nonsense. I'm sure you're right Daniel, it's got to be embarrassing for the family and loved ones. Would you want your loved one's foolish and transgressive behaviours reported on endlessly - often with incorrect or speculative details being tossed around the whole time? Also, what Jedimario said is also relevant. Edited by funeralxempire, Oct 20 2015, 09:48 PM.

Well said. What I don't like is all the sympathy these kind of people get where we have people who do outstanding things or who who are in bad health and aren't hardly even notice. People love dirty laundry. Edited by daniel60, Oct 21 2015, 08:16 AM.

My girlfriend likes to watch Keeping up with the... as a "guilty pleasure". I think that show is utterly horrible. Never saw shallower people. I 'm trying to convince her not to watch 'as it can damage our new Samsung'. |

*sigh* I had 3 boxes that were "out for delivery" on Monday. My mail has been getting later and later, having not shown up until 7:30 or later at night a few times recently. So one box was in a large parcel locker (apartments with cental boxes) with plenty of room, marked as delivered at 7:07PM. The 2 others which would have easily fit were both marked as "notice left, no secure location" at 7:51PM. No notice in my regular box, none on my door, plenty of room they would have fit in the locker. Annoying, but I can understand reaching the "this will just have to wait until tomorrow" point that late in the day. The lie that there was no place to leave them is more frustrating. I was home at the times marked on the tracking, there was plenty of room in the locker already reserved for me, and no note was actually left. No update status on the packages would have been better than a lie. Tuesday comes and goes with nothing but 2 pieces of junk mail in my box. Wednesday has the postal workers BBQing with veterans. One of these groups deserve the day. The other gets an extra holiday that most people don't, and in a season where it probably makes things worse for them and the general public as it adds backlog to the incoming surge. Thursday during my lunch break I go ask what is going on with my packages at the post office. I am told they are "back out for delivery today". Of course I wouldn't know until much later in the evening. Thursday night passes with only some bills in my box. Ten AM this morning my 2 wayward boxes are left at my front door with a knock and a dash. I open them to discover that one seller sent me some action figures (that I can see in their completed auctions) instead of my cars, and the other seller left about half of the lot out of the box. It was mostly a junk lot with some CFs and a few other things I actually wanted in it. Of course I mostly ended up with junk. *sigh* Edited by Hobie-wan, Nov 13 2015, 12:40 PM.

How depressing! We have late rural delivery and anticipation can drive you nuts. Especially when one is retired. I know my postman and he is pretty used to my many small packages. He tries to accommodate me. When a sub is doing his route on his off days things tend to be different. There is no excuse for missing items or bad packaging though. |

Yeah. I mean they're just cars and it isn't the end of the world. I had a really awesome postal worker for a while. She sometimes brought stuff to my apartment in the morning that I'd get before work that could have gone in a locker. Maybe on days where the lockers were going to be filled up or something. But recently it's been someone different when I've made the trek to the mailboxes after 7 and still seen them stuffing them. Maybe a sub, but hundreds of apartment lockers together should be easy. I can understand being busy too. But the past few months I've had stuff that tracking says was delivered, only for it to show up in my box 3 or 4 days later. Multiple instances like this where something says it couldn't be delivered because of 'no answer' at times I've definitely been home and it says a notice was left, but there isn't one in my box, and things like that. I get that it's busy sometimes, it's the falsified status updates that are infuriating. If you're slammed, leave it on 'out for delivery' or there needs to be some other status option. Definitely don't mark it as notice left when that isn't true. If it's just going to end up waiting until tomorrow, put it in the 'make sure these get done today' bin for your rounds tomorrow. In my case, being central boxes means it is easier than if it were houses. I can't imagine my carrier handles much more than my (huge complex) apartments, the one next door, and the businesses around this intersection. That'd be a whole van worth. |

One of my biggest pet peeves are people who don't return grocery store carts in the parking lot. How hard is it to walk 100 more feet to a cart return? I watched an entire family the other day with three grocery carts, the mom just pushed the cart toward the dad so he would handle it, and he just let it roll away, right into a car. He then left his cart right where he was standing. And the teenage kids on the other side left a cart over there. So now, not only did they push a cart into another car when they could have easily stopped it, they left three carts in three different parking spots to block people from parking there. |

Most parking lots around here, you're not even more than 50 feet from a corral if it is a grocery store or a Target/Wal Mart. Of course these are the same sort of people that park in the fire lane while their lazy family/friend/SO runs into the store for "just a minute". |

I'm pushin 50. Currently haven't my drivers licence for medical reasons . My 80 year old mother in law drives us around some to pick up things. She insists in parking in handicapped parking because she has a permit even if she is'nt getting out of the car. I can walk flawlessly but she figures she is entitled to the spot regardless. I love her but it drives me nuts I've got out of the car and come out to find her circling the lot still looking for an empty handicap spot I do wonder if she is more comfortable getting into the larger parking spot . Parking spots keep shrinking , every new lot stuffs more spots into a smaller space... pitty the guy that owns a 59 Sedan D'Ville

That is funny about your Grandmother. I can't count the times my wife wants me to find a closer place to the store when we can walk just 75 feet more and not have to wait. A lot of times I ask her can you do this? Edited by daniel60, Nov 13 2015, 07:36 PM.

LOL...I've owned enough cars in my life I wanted no one near. Parked on the fringe of the lot and walked in from the back 40. I beat most other people into the mall

I hate hunting for spots to park my truck, so I like parking out a ways from the store as well. One evening I was parked out a ways from the grocery store, with many empty spots close to the store and at least 5 empty spots before you even get to my truck, but I come out and see this pick up had pulled in the spot just past mine, I was thinking what a jerk, all these empty spots and he parks right next to mine, he could have parked closer to the store with no one else around him. A few days later I happen to go to the passenger side of my truck and see a hubcap missing, and my hubcaps take some doing to get off and on, they don't just fall off around corners....I'm pretty sure I know why that guy parked just on the other side of me instead of anywhere else. Fortunately my $40 hubcap from the dealer was only $20 shipped from ebay. |

NOW you've touched on one of my issues! It really tics me off when people leave shopping carts laying around, blocking spaces or even the driveway. I know there are a few people who might be a bit feeble, but more often it's just plain I-don't-care laziness. It's no wonder so many people are overweight; they won't even walk a cart to a storage bay. Another thing: People who, after parking, walk to the store down the MIDDLE OF THE DRIVEWAY so you can't drive around them. You're forced to just creep along behind them (while fighting the urge to make them part of the pavement). I find this happening at places like Walmart and Costco more than big malls or grocery stores. Edited by guy64, Nov 13 2015, 10:07 PM.

I work at a school district and am currently the Union President for the non teaching staff.I get complaints from time to time that require me to talk with supervisors and directors about the reported complaints. Why do adults, and I use that term loosely, omit information from their complaint that would be beneficial to me to know before hand before I attempt to resolve their issue and waste my time pursuing a result that is anachievable. These people watch after other peoples children and essentially act like one when they feel like they have been slighted................................................When does my term end???!!! |

Why admit something that helps the "other" side? Politics, pure and simple. Please read this as full agreement with you.... Unions, in my opinion, are an excuse for the useless to maintain the status quo of mediocrity. Once upon a time they may have served a purpose, but now they are a hindrance and a useless weight dragging down anyone who actually wants to be productive. |

I sniff some political discussion and I think we all know where that gets you around here. Tonight I would like to rant about people paying dealer markups over MSRP for hot new cars. I get supply and demand, but I just personally don't want to have to wait a year for the hype to die down to feel like I'm not gonna get ripped off
