Hobie, that Porsche 356 looks really good in blue, and it's really neat to see what the yellow VW looks like in minty condition.
Forgot about the MB Gullwing, pretty sure I have one of those in a pocket car package somewhere, but I think it's the same color.

Thanks. I'm pretty fond of the green examples you posted up as well as that gold Beetle with the side tampos. I know the Beetles are bootlegged a lot and and I haven't bitten on a skinny wheel one yet. I think my yellow one is legit, but I nabbed it before I knew of the problem. It does have the grayish metal base like yours appears to have.

Forgot about my Porsche 911 police I had in my emergency vehicle case.
Same as Johns, but without star on hood, not that it didn't possibly come with one, some of my Tomica's came with sticker sheets which I usually just keep with the boxes, so I don't know for sure on this one....

A few models I had overlooked.....

Porsche, these are old pics, and I forgot to recheck the bases, but at least I think they are both Porsche's, though the one is obviously tampoed as such.

pj, my Japanese fire dept VW bug was a single, and was in a standard picture box that showed an unmarked red VW "1200LSE" with no red light on top....the box was one of the ones indicating 'foreign' car....with the German flag gracing the face. (I don't know if all 'foreign' Tomicas came in boxes with the country flag....)

Don't know if all of the F series boxes were with the flag showing, but I have a number of boxes from that era, and I think all mine do, as I recall each also has the model name in Japanese on one side of the box, and English on the other.

I'll do some box photos this weekend, and post them in each of the country specific threads. You can check the "British" thread where I already posted a few boxes from that era. The red and white boxes also posted there are from a later time, late 1990's and early 2000's, and by then I think they long since stopped doing the country flags, of course, by then they weren't designated as F series anymore either.

Ahhhh, was "F" series for "foreign"? I don't think I knew that.
