Today's truck of the day is M2's 1966 Dodge L600 Tow Truck

Wikipedia

The A100 competed with the Ford Econoline and Chevrolet Van, as well as the Volkswagen Type 2. The range included a pickup truck and van, both with a "forward control" design. The implementation of situating the driver on top of the front axle with the engine near the front wheels is called internationally a "cab over" vehicle. The nose was flat, with the engine placed between the driver and passenger, who sat above the front axle. The unibody vehicles used a short, 90 in (2,300 mm) wheelbase. An A108 was also available from 1967–1970, with a longer 108 in (2,700 mm) wheelbase. The A108 was popular with camper conversion companies.

This Dodge L600 is from M2's Auto Trucks series. The L600 was based on the A100. Wikipedia doesn't have a separate entry for the L600, so I've used the entry from the A100.

Great looking truck/model. Nice details. Not sure the pure white wheels are the best color though.

I agree those white wheels do need to go

:toy: Great looking vintage Dodge Wrecker from M2 - something about those smaller cab over trucks always makes them look front end heavy. I agree, I think the wheels should be a different color.

The details are cool. This isn't a truck I would be at all familiar with, were it not for the M2.

New casting? Quick! Take it apart!
Oooooh, first time I've seen this release. Great looking and would be perfect for diorama shots. I'll buy any scheme they come up with in the future.

WARNING: Do NOT drop these trucks, or any other M2 wreckers. The tow boom assembly is extremely brittle plastic and it WILL break. A lot. My cat knocked one off of my diorama table onto a carpeted floor and the towing assembly broke into 4 or 5 pieces, pieces that were just too fiddly to super-glue back together. I'm not spending my money on another of these as a result. They look great - when they're all in one piece.

what an awesome model- great series of shots. I only have the red version, but that green one looks great too. too bad about the casualty involving the cat... what a shame.

Nice model. I've added one to the collection.
Some design issues like the 5 bolt front rims and 10 bolt rear rims. Looking through some old pics and reference material, the front Budd rims should be 6 bolt rims. White rims could use a repaint. But these are all small potato's to an otherwise neat model.

I actually like the white wheels but the back doesn't look right at all. I think M2 needs a new boom piece because it just doesn't look right at all. Still like the model though, only because I love the L600 casting.
