This is my absolute favourite Tomica Limited Vintage (not that I have that many in my collection). I picked this one up in Osaka back in 2013. What I didn't know then was there are two different colours that this model comes in.

LV-121b is the one displayed in my picture and it is off-white. The one displayed on the box however is the LV-121a which is a gray-blue colour. If I had known about the two colours I definitely would have grabbed both models.

I paid a paltry 500 yen for it (about 5 bucks) ...geez I can't even get a Greenlight for that price.

Great photo!

Did you get yours at a second hand shop? Sounds like someone swapped boxes.

Refresh my memory.... does the bed tip up and tailgate door open?

Thx Toyotageek, no the box was sealed, I assume there's two different colours based on the code. Yes the bed does tilt and the tailgate door swings open. There's also a hidden spare tire between the bed and the cab. More pics on my blog.

Thanks for the added photo.

Yes, there are two versions (a & b), but the boxes always have the correct color version on them.
Since I don't have either in front of me, I did a quick search online. It seems the box art on this one is a bit deceptive - the box seems to show a light grey-blue truck, but the actual model as you know is almost more of a whiteish grey. LV121a is definitely a much bluer car, and the box art for it is also much bluer. So you do have the correct box and model.

Agree, the "b" version had me thinking it was the blue gray version too. I think I like the "a" colour scheme better, but I'm happy with the model. Thanks for verifying it for me.

 Wow - not to often you get to see a commercial type Mazda vehicle in small scale. Very nice!

Sometimes the colors on the boxes are completely off, I think it's because of the filter they add to achieve a "vintage" look. Like on this Skyline for example

A better way to get an idea of the real color of the car without opening the box is to check the colored circle on the side of the box (or on the top next to the name of the model in English), but even that circle is off sometimes.

Thanks Sopikey! I almost forgot all about those small colored circles.
