This 66 Chevelle and 69 Camaro were two of my first Johnnys to join my diecast collection.

I really liked the idea of pro stock looking cars because at that time there weren't any to be found around here, or any others I knew of that looked this good. I noticed the Camaro had a parachute and the Chevelle did not. I added a parachute of my own and went on to add a little more detail. I've always kept these cars clean and in excellent shape.

I later found the 69 Camaro of Pat Musi which fit in perfect with the other two... Awesome cars!!!

The Musi Camaro had different wheels and needed no detail...

I had a grand ole' time racing these cars across the kitchen table...

Nice. I remember having one of those Camaros from the early 5 packs, don't have a clue where it went to. Nice idea for a thread, post your first Johnny. Thanks for the pics!

I remember that Hot Rod Magazine series, I rather liked most of the cars in it and I'm surprised it hasn't weathered well with collectors over the years. The Flathead Flyer, the crew cab Model A pickup, Frankenstude, Rumblur, Street Beast and others made up a nice series.

I couldn't tell you the exact issue, but my first Playing Mantis was a Topper repop XKE Jag, I'm thinking a pale green color. That was my revelation that JL was back in action!
