I have always been interested in American cars from the 70's and 80's - especially Compacts and "Econoboxes". From an European point of view, it is interesting to see how different they are compared to the ones here. |

I am pretty sure that the Opel Kadett E (later continued as Daewoo LeMans) is a pretty horrible econobox by US standards of the time, but I think it is a pretty nice car to drive for a car of its era. Here they were notorious for their ability to rust though and most of them are already scrapped ages ago - though occasionally I see one on the roads. Here we got a GTi version with a 2-liter engine, which was much appreciated car for its power and driveability at the time |
