I like the wheel choice. Shame about those extra large rear wheel openings. But it is a old casting.

I'm waiting to see how this one goes over for JL. This casting has never looked as good as it does in this great paint scheme, but the fact remains that this is an old budget-line casting (which was designed for the $2 redcard line, with no opening hood and some liberty taken in making it Hot Wheels competitive, such as the huge wheel wells, originally to give it the big-rear-wheel Hot Wheels stance). I'm a little taken aback by the proposal this becomes acceptable practice at the $6 diecast level. However, with how bat dung crazy the bandwagon currently is for old Japanese car models, maybe this one will be a huge sales success for JL, and it will be the hardest to find of its release. Maybe.

Great minds think alike, my thoughts were almost identical minus the bat dung....

Good to see the tooling is still around though.

Like this model but would be nicer without those large rear wheel openings.

It's time to scrap that casting if they are going to still sell at the $6.00 price point. It was not impressive 15 years ago and new rims cannot make up for its shortcomings.

Even I won't pay $6.00 for this one. Just like I won't pay that for the '72 Riviera.

They did good work with what they had to work with. Not enough for me to buy a second casting however.

That is nice, but still not worth the 6 bucks. All of the recent JL can be found around my neck of the woods, and plenty of it.They need to remake their big sellers like the Caprice Wagon, the 65 Chevy Truck, the 59 F250 etc, the ones commanding high dollars on the bay.

Last I checked this and the Monza were two examples of JLs that demand high dollars on eBay.

My take on opening hoods doesn't mean anything to me. Just buying a diecast with no paint chips, paint trash or etc means something to me at any price. I don't mind paying a high price if they can make it without flaws. It's buying something I like twice or even three times just so I can get one decent diecast that doesn't eat the big one.

4 of the 5 I saw for sale on ebay were from the same seller and all his stuff was ridiculously high priced. Found one still in the package on Toy Peddler for $5.00. With shipping the new JL would be cheaper but outside of the 240SX I haven't seen crazy interest in the JL imports like I do the HW at the shows I have been at.
