I don't really post in this forum much, that is mostly because I don't really collect the newer ones, and all my old JLs were packed away and inaccessible, but yesterday I was able to get to this tub, and what do you know.....

So maybe I'll start sharing some photos here at some point, however, most of my JL collection are still in packages, I do have loose ones somewhere though, not quite sure where yet.

I know I only ever had 4-5 White Lightnings, and some seem to be on the top in this tub.

Is that Alaska "Dig In" model a Jeep with a camper shell? That's really cool! I'd have bought a couple of those had I ever seen them in stores. (I helped my brother paint his Willys pickup before he packed the bed to the gills and higher for his move out of Alaska back in the early 80s.)

I forget exactly what it is Blair, but I'm thinking Toyota Land Cruiser, and they offered it in a variety of colors, which I do have a few of, not all in the series with the Alaska plate though.....hopefully they are all in this tub so I can post some pics of them this evening.

Wow, what a nice treasure box to 'rediscover' and sift through!

BTW, yes, that is a Toyota Land Cruiser (and not a Jeep)...

P.S. ... if you plan on thinning your collection, I might be interested in the Land Cruiser.

I see your fine print there Michael, not doing any thinning at this time, but I will certainly keep you in mind if I do.

Here are some better shots of the TLC, I can't believe I only found one other in that tub, I definitely remember having a black one too, and I thought at least one other, but can't remember color....they've got to be mixed in a box of another brand, and I forgot to mark the box to remind me they were in there. :duh:

I did happen to find a couple Jeeps in there too, so figured I might as well show them too.

Thanks guys!

Decided to see what all Hummers I had in that tub, these 11 might be all I own of JLs, less one I know I have that is missing here, from this box anyway.

This one shown on the back of the package is the one I know is missing, since I did order it, and do have it somewhere.

And below is a couple of close ups of one of the Rescue Hummers

And finally is a closer look at the one I understand to be a White Lightning, if so, I never did find the regular issue of it.

Well, I would have certainly bought the "jeep"/Land Cruiser had I ever seen it in stores.....I rented a room (and therefore half the house) to one of my coworkers and continuing great friend (the "Hot Wheels collector" who retired to his childhood home 30 miles north of Boise and to whom I sometimes refer), and he had a Land Cruiser in the garage (Fairbanks, AK.....really a good thing to have a garage....surprisingly not that many up there do); he was always working on the TLC....but not always with such TLC, if you know what I mean....sometimes the care was less than "tender"....

I'm happy to have all the rescue trucks....but never did find the Sheriff's ride. That was sure a tub to tackle....and filled with JL delights. I still haven't sorted or accounted for all the JL goodies I have gathered over the years. Need to do that......

Haha... it seems like a lot of us have tubs or boxes to sift through.

I think I have most of the Land Cruisers. At the time I was only able to grab one of most, although I think I did manage a few duplicates over the years (to fill the "one to open, one to keep carded" quota).

Those Jeeps and Hummers are nice looking too.

Glad you found them Michael, it is funny how as our collections grow we forget we have some models that are packed away.....Although I used to remember most everything I had and even where it was (at least of major brands), back when I had more room and was somewhat organized. :D

It is a dream, and always seems out of reach when we keeping adding more and more toy cars to our collections. :D

Here are a few more goodies I found in the tub.....

I think I wanted that Clark's Service wrecker because my first job was working at a Clark gas station up in Detroit, they were a chain in the area, but don't think they even had wreckers since I don't remember any of them having service garages, they were tiny buildings that only sold gasoline, and I believe they had a display rack of oil as well, they may have had a rack of wiper blade refills as well, but not positive.

Unfortunately :( Between selling some to help get my family through this rough year, and DLM'ing some more, I only have a "banker's box" of carded ones left now. Still have 4-5 Jammers filled with 'em though
