Hey guys... whats the skinny on the teal base variation ?
Has anyone had any luck changing out the plastic forks on one of these suckers ?Posted Image

Didn't even know of a variation like this, a great find. Never tried to mess with the forks on mine, so not sure if it is doable.

In the pic, that base color reminds me of the color of the regular wheel Lincoln, but that was from at least a few years before this model, unless it was the same color of leftover paint they happened to still have around the factory.

I had a spare with teal base on ofas for a long time and it finally sold...at a low price. But I think this is a difficult model to find and it looks great.

Lesney used "extra" paint for the baseplates at this time that could not be used on the bodies of the vehicles so that is why there is a proliferation of strange baseplates like pink, light yellow, cream, etc.

One collection I sold had a Greyhound Bus with a Tan base that was undocumented. A former ambassador got that one.
