Not bad! Congrats! The plastic-bed-wall-as-part-of-interior thing worked out pretty well with this one. |

Hoping (still) that batch (H) begins hitting local stores soon. Meanwhile, Dollar Tree (at least, the nearest store to me) restocked with batch G and this time around the case(s) included the Miata (and a few other carryovers from F) AND the white Alfa. I have not seen Dollar Tree stock so many Matchbox cases in so short a period of time since I moved here 11 years ago. (Knock on wood) I hope this trend continues....DT offering regular stocks of Matchbox. Like most retail supply chains, however, it seems they have an abundance of the same batch in their warehouses so we keep getting the same things restocked. This time it worked out because IIRC the previous stocks were batch F. I saw every model from batch G, but 'new' appearances of most of batch F. |

One that I am hoping to find real soon! Thanks for the close-up photos, BossCar! Like JeepXJLover, I'd love to see front and rear tampo hits on a release eventually - but I will say that I like this livery. Prado, welcome to Swifty's Garage!

I happily found the bulk of batch J at a newer Walmart in the area today....so I have one of these, plus the recolor of the Dodge A100, the Chrysler 300, Xcanner, F550, both police motorcycles (MP BMW 1200 GS and blue State Police BMW 1200 RT-P), Infiniti G37 Coupe, the new airport "Swift Shuttle" bus and red Lambo LM002. Left the rest on the pegs. I guess some of what I brought home were the 2nd time around for what was in the H batch (VW, A100, F550, MP bike), but the rest of the J batch was present. Still haven't seen the rest of H around here. By the way, I think the Swift Shuttle is a really nice bus....I like it better than the city bus. Do you ever have the slightest twinge of guilt for buying all the new models off pegs when you see them? I get that vague feeling almost every time I come across a brand new batch, but I always trust eventually that same group will make it to other stores in the region. I have to make my mantra "you snooze, you lose".....and I've often been on the other "end" of that situation. But it is sort of embarrassing seeing some folks with kids staring at me as I walk past balancing 10 kids' toys in my hands (because I didn't expect to buy anything I didn't grab a bag or basket or cart upon entering the store). Now I want to find the version of the transporter with the tools in the back......has anybody here seen that version yet? |

@guy64: Somehow I forgot to reply to you. Whoops. Thanks! @Douglas: Thanks! I hope you find one soon! @carcollector: Thanks! Hope you also find one soon! @JeepXJLover: Fair enough ![]() @prado: That be an cool duo! @pjedsel: Indeed! When Matchbox does it right, they do it very right! @Stampede: No problem! I like to share my models on here and other diecasts communities! Hopefully, you find one soon! @b2young: Nice finds! The G37 is a big want of mine, so I hope I also come across one! I didn't even know Matchbox had that casting until it make a return. As for the variation, I'm not sure. I would assume someone has seen it, but who knows. |

Huh, didn't know they weren't imported here. That's an interesting bit of info. I like seeing cars not typically found here in the states. That's probably why I like the Matchbox TVR Tuscan and Holden Ute castings. Need to add both of those to my collection at some point....well I do/did have a TVR but in not so great shape. |

I recently DLM'd my two V Dubs and both did not pass the roll test. The front tires on both models rub against the wheel housing. Anybody else finding this to be true, or did I just get a bad batch? Both models are stamped J15. Dave |

When watching a Lamely Matchbox case opening, he mentioned the previous case with this casting did have some issues like what you described. |

The one I found Sunday is dated J21 and rolls fine. Still on the hunt for the one with stuff in the bed. |

I had the opportunity to dig out my old T3 the other day, so thought I would share some comparison pictures. The old VW has 1:62 on the base and from a rough measurement I make the new VW to be around 1:70/1:71. I like them both, but I would say that there is a noticeable difference in size. Take a look for yourselves... ![]() ![]() |

Yes, Matchboxes have been getting a lot smaller. This is a sneakier way to reduce metal content and therefore manufacturing cost. The Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk is one of the smallest models Matchbox has ever made for a licensed SUV. I like this VW casting (have yet to find it) but think it is odd that it debuted with such a modern deco and set of wheels. I hope the next one looks more era-appropriate. |

I didn't know there was a vari on this casting. I have found two with the "stuff in the bed". I'll keep an eye out for the "empty" version. |
