One of my favourite Majo castings. I have these five. There is at least a British police version I don't have. I just noticed that my police cars are not the same - they are different wheel variations and the tampo is lighter on the one on the back. The one with white base is odd too. I have never come across another one with that color combo than that one at a flea market this summer. I think all of Majorette Mondeos have turning front wheels. I think Majorette outdid MBX and Siku with first gen Mondeo. Anyone else like this casting?

I find this casting very rare, which makes me like it a lot. I do have one of the Matchbox ones, which I equally like, but I find the casting a bit too big.

I like those Poliisi versions. I still miss those in my collection. I like the Majorette Mondeo. The U.S. got the Mondeo in slightly modified form as the Ford Contour, but it only came as a sedan; no hatchback, and no wagon for the U.S. For that reason, the Matchbox has always appealed to me more, but I still really like the Majorette Mondeo hatchback. Here are mine: silver, light brown interior, black base, no rubstrip tampo ![]() silver, dark brown interior, dark gray base, rubstrip ![]() silver, dark brown interior, light gray base, rubstrip ![]() enamel blue, 8-dot wheels ![]() metallic blue, 5-spoke wheels ![]() black, Police ![]() blue variations together (silver Sharpie license plate and emblem are custom) ![]() Sunroof is moveable ![]() |

Nice casting of the Mondeo from Majorette. I have the black and white police version - the Finnish Poliisi is high on my want list - think the only Finnish police cars I have in my collection are from Hongwell.

I still drive facelifted '98 Mondeo 1.8 TD Ghia, caravan. My dad had '94 1.8 16V. I'm sentimentaly tied. So... Which is most likely? Which one is my dearest? I thought that is Matchbox... You make me take out my SIKU, Mathcbox and Majorette boxes... Ugh... what to say? And now I simply don't know anymore... All three have something own. |
