I happened to find a couple of videos where a 3" car was attached to a key:

Has anyone here done this?

I've seen a few at car shows. Looks easy enough to do.

Eh, I'm not a fan of putting diecast cars on keyrings or actual keys. I prefer having less of a lump in my pocket. Aside from that the car is going to be all chipped up and ugly in short order as it scrapes on keys and stuff in your pocket.

Not to mention I am quite sure the extra heft is not good on some ignitions, especially the cheaper ones.

My friend use to have probably close to 2 pounds of garbage hanging on her keys. While it seemed to not damage her car's ignition, I often wondered if she were in a accident what kind of flying projectile that garbage would have made.

Maybe if it folded like a pocket knife that would be better, although somewhat inconvenient to use. I'm not a fan of bulky key rings in my pockets either, even though these are in a way kind of neat looking.

It might be good if you use a plastic bodied car. Hot wheels has some interesting models that might fit.

However, i prefer my own diecast related keyring :D
