It's not the LTD police which I love, but it's a the same casting with one or two modifications, and the LTD made for a nice Taxi as well as police car, just never done as a sedan which would have been nice as well.

The Taxi version was first issued in 1992, over the years the model didn't get much use in the basic range, in fact, outside of some promotional issues there only appears to have been these 3, plus a Star Car issue for the TV show Taxi, which I don't seem to have.

On left is the 1992 1-75 issue, center is 1999 5pk issue, and finally the 1999 1-75 or was 1-100 then.

Love how they use a separate white plastic piece as taxi lamp!
These days, we get a Prius taxi with no taxi lamp. :(

 The LTD casting made for a great Taxi model (as well as police car). It is to bad they never did just a stock version of it. Think it would have sold well - especially if they had added a trailer hitch.

Guess we were mistaken John, seems they did modify the casting into a sedan for this one use, but I suppose it has holes in it where they attached the figure. :D

Very nice casting! I've collected many of those as well as the Police version.

My favourite castings too, though I only have police versions. I have bought a few beaters for a sedan conversion when I just have time to do it. I am planning to do a stock version also from the recent 93 Mustang LX.

I agree with PJ Edsel- would have loved a civilian or an undercover police version with no lightbar. Also I prefer the dotted wheels on left and right versions from the original picture rather than the "dubs" on the center version.
