This was such a huge thing for Matchbox to get the Bentley license back then. Bentley was very strict and no one could get licensing for Bentley models in small scale. Matchbox tried hard, and after a long approval process, finally got the go-ahead to make the Continental GT. It was quite noteworthy at the time, but Matchbox simply paved the way for numerous other manufacturers to seek and acquire Bentley licensing. Following the Matchbox, the following companies have since released models of the Continental GT:
Hot Wheels
Kyosho
Majorette
Minichamps
Siku
Tomica
Top Mark
Welly

The Quest Continues
Nice collection. I like the shot with them all lined up. Interesting on the licensing too.
