It is a pre-production sample of this model....

The Bandag Bandit. It was released as a US exclusive MB65 in 1982.

It was based on a real vehicle.

There was also a white version issued around that time, it seems it had a different name and called "Kenworth Super Boss".

Then I believe they modified the casting and also used it in the Road Blasters series, when it was fitted with plastic armament.

Drag racer Tyrone Malone built the Kenworth drag trucks Super Boss (white )followed by the Bandag Bandit (black) in the 70's. He hauled them around the country on a pair of custom Kenworth ramp trucks ...Super Boss on Papa Truck and Bandag Bandit on Hide out Truck.
Matchbox did both Super Boss & Bandag Bandit individually in the main line and both Super Boss/Papa Truck... Bandag Bandit/ Hide Out Truck sets in Convoy series

It's the slot car version of the Super Boss. Matchbox did make a slot car line for a number of years, which wasn't well received, as the cars, despite being made in HO scale, had a unique spacing of the pick up shoes.
