Leaks, Rumours and Innuendo For 2017; What Are You Excited For In 2017?

We got new photos of the mold of the new '77 Porsche 934.5 and Corvette Z06 C.7 Hot Wheels that will appear in stores in 2017. The Corvette should appear on the mainline, but the Porsche appears to be some adult series, such as Car Culture. Will it also have the Urban Outlaw decoration?
...
It is always good to see new Corvettes and Porsches in the Hot Wheels, but unfortunately in recent times they screwed up ugly models. It seems that these two new cars will redeem past mistakes!

Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16, coming to Car Culture Modern Classics in 2017, designed by Mark Jones. (This is a prepro. The casting will obviously be in another color with deco and Real Riders.)

I guess I can cross this off of the list of models I've been begging for.
Let's hope it's in scale with it's main rival, the BMW E30 M3.

I am definitely going to be after one of those Benz 190's. Always been a favorite car to own in the racing sim games I've played.

Do you play rFactor? Touring Car Legends and either the DTM 93 or DTM 94 mods feature the 190E, the DTM mod includes the 2.5 Evo II version specifically.
I'm hoping a Ford Sierra RS500 and a Nissan Skyline GTS-R R31 are in the works to complete the legends of Group A.

Most of what I play in the sim department is Forza and formerly Gran Turismo.

Personally I'd like to see the Volvo 242 ETCC in a Hot Wheels size. They basically broke the formula at the time.

Oh, the Turbo Brick would be nice to see as a companion for the E30 and W201 (and the others). Just like with Trans-Am and Group 5 cars, they can make 'em all, and I'll buy them like a completionist.

There's also a classic Fiat 500, a Porsche 962, and the first premium version of the Porsche 356A coming via Car Culture. T-Hunted also showed those, and more, and I would imagine those were shown at the HWC. Artworks of the 934.5, C7, Tesla Model X, and others were shown as well

Support your local demo derby.

I don't forsee myself spending much $$$ with Mattel in general next model year. They seem to make less and less that ultimately appeals to me anymore.

Most excited for that Mercedes! Now if only an American premium brand would start doing cars like this...

Agreed. Kyosho does stuff like this at the premium level, but they're not US based so prices are higher and they're often hard to track down unless it's a brand new release.
Come on Greenlight, let's celebrate some classics besides just the American ones.

I need to start keeping track of cars I've lobbied for that HW releases, so far this, the 180SX and the Escort RS1600 are ones I've tried to push.

Greenlight hasn't completely ignored the foreign cars to be fair.

I also agree. I love American classics, but, the Euros need some love too!

Indisputable, but they're mostly aircooled VWs, or the current R35/GT-R or castings they bought from other companies. Older USDM imports by and large get ignored, so that might be a niche they could move into and have pretty much entirely to themselves.

I'm glad they didn't just buy a Porsche casting and rebrand it like they did with this one.. This is an old FAO shop release that I'm pretty sure was a Corgi at one point. I forget.

Ooh, I like those steelies. I'm surprised it took them this long since we've had the MB ones with the spinners that have a same sort of feel to them.

What I have seen so far, that new mainline deepdish steel rim is the thing I'm very interested in.

Also the MB 190 looks nice, even though it doesn't stand comparison for the old Corgi casting they used in the 90's. The first case of 2017 seems to have a white Cadillac Elmiraj, that is at least a must have.

What concerns me is if HW 2017 will ever land to Finland. There are only a handful of retailers for toy cars here, and all major players seem to have changed to Majorette or MBX. I haven't seen a new HW case or even addons to the pegs in stores for months. The easy availability has been the main reason why I have even been buying HW's.

Guess who's back? Escort's back.
It looks like the wing has be changed to one like the WRC Escort used. The MBX one depicts the Group A spec Escort wing, the earlier HW releases don't depict a real wing used on the Escort.
