Yes...It is actually me posting - the road has been a long and challenging one and still a long road ahead of me. But the good news is the blood thinners are dong their job with no complications and the new round of clots in my leg are slowly dissolving. Everyday I feel a little stronger - lots of walking around the house and physical therapy to build up my strength. This past week has been a good one as I have started having an interest in doing little things...such as actually spending a little time at the computer. I have a number of doctor appointments coming up (one with a hematologist to see if we can figure out why I keep forming the blood clots) to access if all of what I have been through has left any long term damage to my lungs, heart, vascular system. I thank all of you for your words of encouragement, phone calls (what a joy it was to hear from some of you), you prayers and cards - both for me and for Velma. I know she had to make her own journey through all of this - especially that first week when losing me was a very strong reality (more than once). She is one very special lady and without her this would have been an even more challenging journey. So thank you for the words of support you offered her as well. It will probably be a bit before I am posting on a regular basis but just good to be back at the Garage and among a great group of very special people. Again thank you for walking this journey with us. |
