I was very thrilled to see Greenlight release this 1967 Ford, but kinda disappointed it was a 4 door. It still looks good and was a badly needed link in my "Ford over the years" collection. There was a major body change in style from 1966 to 1967 and even more of a major body style change from 1967 to 1968. I have searched for years and no other diecast company has released a 67 Galaxie 500 XL...I sincerely hope so very, very much to see this one be a 67 Galaxie 500 XL 2 door soon!!!![]() ![]() ![]() Show quality!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sadly the early releases of this model have incorrect parking lamps. Compared to the 55 Cadillac casting, this thing is crude with thick roof pillars and funky body lines. |

They were plastic also. The Thunder Jet and Cigar Box cars weer more HO-1/87th scale. I'm talking one compatible with the size and detail of a GL, AW, or JL... That Ford you posted Daniel. looks to be a 67 1/2 or a 68. I don't recall ever seeing many like that. It sure looks sharp though... I'm not sure what the last year for the Galaxie was, but the Torino, LTD, and the Crown Vic began appearing. I know several collectors have been howling for a 67 Galaxie for a long time...LOL Edited by Stangfreak, Nov 12 2016, 09:03 AM.

Fair enough, but you didn't mention size or detail. They are bigger than 1/87. Agreed too small for 1/64, but I would guess around 1/70-1/72...HO *slot car* size. And I believe Daniel's covered headlights example is a 69, possibly an option on 68. |
